Not wanting to start chatter here , but when loanees go back on schedule or are recalled it does seem to impact on us in recent years we have relied heavily on loanees and youth ! I support the youth , but am glad to see us moving away from the loaning in of lots of players ! personally I think a club should only be able to loan in a maximum of 2 players per season!
I cannot get onto the WO site at present, but have seen that work on the Red Lion has begun at a cost of about £500,000.

Frenchie here you are http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/ne...er_says_Red_Lion_could_be_open_for_Christmas/
Actually got to say he is delivering on his promises and at the moment is doing a great job!!! Now wheres that large slice of humble pie!
good point on the second one though...lovely that he's doing the Red Lion, but what about the Stadium..what's happening there?
Thanks Norway, the WO site was unobtainable, but is back on now. I used to have a builder friend in the UK who specialised in doing up old pubs. He could achieve the impossible in terms of cost and time. If the costing is about right, it is a lot less than the Russos were talking about. I would say that none of the things we have seen from him have been over the top, be it buying players or now this. The question still remains where is the money coming from. A scheme along these lines could be attractive enough to get finance, but football clubs are dodgy investments for all bankers and their ilk.
Plus if the news is to believed the global money markets are dodgy at best another big reason not to invest in a footy club!
Shame to see Andy W going back to Villa but gives one of our own a chance to impress. If required could we get him back?
Or maybe he has more backing than he is letting on ! a bank especially these days would require serious collateral before lending a footy club money! So if this is the case what have we sold down the river , the ground ?No that has been protected by Lord ahstons conditions at least for 4/5 years ! the debts are one ofthe lowest in the championship ,we have a plan in place to be sustainable but we are still a not there yet! What other assets do the club own?what other money spinners could you take out money on?the academy unlikely, the red lion possibly once its up and running! Useful but surely not going to generate that much! its certainly one to ponder ! I wish Baz would clear it up ,but the fact remains so far he has kept his promises!
bloody hell dwayne smith is killing bresnan! H I cant see the hotel thing working as lots of hotels close by , However a large business conference place with a hotel could work there!but then its all about planning permission you are better place to go to the town hall and see what has been submitted!
I think it will depend on how long Villa's injury problem goes on for and how Wiemann does if he gets game time. Also we may have moved on as well and not be in a position to want him back although I think that's unlikely.
