I watched Sam Baldock tonight get his hat trick Saturday. Looks to be a player very much out of the DG mould and his chairman has hinted that he could go for up to 1/2m.
obviously waiting for the end of the window to get the cheapest price , false economy in my book as we go on squandering points!
If we have someone in mind, spend the required amount to get him through the door. I think the signing of a forward will show our intentions for the rest of the season.
I would like to see someone come in too, the question is how much do we pay and for who?? We could go for AlF but end up having to shell out £1,000,000 which is a fair bit for us, regardless how good he is.
And the trouble is if we do blow that much on one player, that player who can score goals in the (old) 4th division but can he cut it in the Championship?
I see that DG is not getting a fantastic press over the bridge. " Too slow, can't head the ball, wrong type of player for our style, we wus robbed paying that amount for him. He works hard to be fair, but doesn't seem to have brought his goalscoring touch with him. Maybe he needs to sharpen up in the reserves, as he is only a championship player." The expectations down there seem to be on the fantasy trip.
