i suspect some might say they'd rather have stayed in the Championship than to be charged so much more for the Prem! It's not even going to go down when they come back down probably, they're stuck with it!
Most expensive in the championship , nut the rates are plain daft! How much did we put ours up in our prem seasons?
In 1999 (with the caveat that I wasn't paying), I believe the rise was fairly substantial. But that was to be expected. In 2006 it wasn't bad. And heck, we had Cashton and Homer running us then. QPR have world-leading businessmen.
A comment from a fan on the QPR 606 board. "The cheapest price for a league match at Loftus Road will be ã47, with season tickets up by almost 40%. But with five fewer home games in the top flight, the increase is around 67% in real terms."
Rumour/gossip/fact? 25 May 2011 22:02:29 Watford's Danny Graham is definately in talks with WBA, which are described as being in the 'later stages'. As far as I'm aware, despite rumours linking him to a return to his home city of Newcastle, WBA are currently the only team in talks with him. They are expected to make him one of, if not their first, purchase of the summer.
more gossip: 25 May 2011 19:32:30 troy deeney of watford is moving north to bradford city during the close season, getting tired of life down in london, a genuin nice guy who is tiring of the stab you in the back life style wants a better life style for himself and son.
Seen that too Hornette; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...rom-set-table-2-5m-offer-forDanny-Graham.html It is the Daily Fail so not overly sure of the rumour... but hopefully they dismiss anything around the £2.5m mark immediately!!
You know that the club have gone mad when even David Pleat manages to say something that I cannot find fault with. Namely that if QPR intend to establish themselves in the top flight, Premier League spending should come this year, and the price rise should have been phased in over 2-3 years after that. Onto more important matters, I heard second hand that Blackpool would still be interested in Don Cowie. The interest in Graham and Buckley is to be expected, but if someone were to think seriously about signing Don Cowie I'd be very worried. Easily the most underrated player we've got.
Here's one i dismissed the other day NNW: 24 May 2011 19:46:21 Don Cowie is on the verge of handing in a transfer request after being overlooked for the next batch of Scotland games. Cowie feels playing the majority of games on the wing for Watford is doing little for his international career and Nottm Forest are thought to be weighing up a bid in the region of £750,000.
Not really sure the difference, but would probably suggest QPR had a smaller initial price with add-ons whereas WBA maybe all cash up front, which would obviously be far more appealing to the board... Hopefully we reject this new bid immediately too! Where do you get these rumours from, by the way?
Difference is WBA charged us £4m for Ellington - we should add that cost to DG and charge them £6.5m
Has there ever been a second division top scorer who went on to become so hapless, so quickly as Nathan Ellington?
