http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/b/brentford/9556292.stm Seems sad. Who knows what would have happened if Forrester had stayed with us. He might have ended up playing for Brentford, I suppose.
Chased the perceived buck I suppose, had bad advice from family or agent ! If he had stayed ,I think he would be a first team regular now! Instead of his career improving he has now stagnated , a shame he has lot his best developmental years! This is where Massey and Murray have been clever by staying with us because they know this is one of the best clubs to be at as a youngster.
Sometimes the young ones go chasing the buck and it does not work out, shame about HF, our young ones will learn more and get more game time here at WFC!
You have to say it looks like he's learnt his lesson. Can't think of many players in the game who would have picked Brentford over Ajax, with no connections whatsoever to either.
Hopefully this is wrong! 04 Aug 2011 13:00:06 Hull City are close to signing Jordon Mutch on loan from Birmingham. Nigel Pearson is keen to bring in somebody to replace in-disciplined Jimmy Bullard and sees the midfielder, who was on loan at Watford last season, as the man to do it.
Fail to see your continued obsession of that site Al , I would say that the above is great news! it means Hull wont get him
I'm not shocked SLB. Unless O'Neill put him through training on a par with Mike Bassett (or Dave for that matter), Forrester should still be a good enough player to make it in this division at the very least. But aged almost 21, the sum total of his experience is eight games against a bunch of clubs that would probably be in League One if they were English, and Celtic. I think he might have made it at Ajax, but given how his career has panned out, going there would have to have gone down as a roll of the dice. He has gone to the biggest league in the world where he can be certain that he will play week in, week out. And I'm absolutely certain that he'll be a Championship player next season.
Hope your right , he did have talent, but now is playing catch up so early in his career , when he should have been an established championship player at the very least by now!
very sad for HF...but yep, good to see he's been a good lesson to others...we can only benefit from that, as can the kids that follow him...
I agree, North North, I meant gobsmacking in terms of a fall from grace. His transfer to Villa was somewhat controversial and now he's playing for Brentford. No doubt he'll be back at some level but at the time it was as though Villa had nicked the new 'Great White Hope' .
The bigger club turning a young lads eyes .....He wasnt the first and wont be the last!, but at least our kids can learn from his error , If one wants to leave the club can say look what happened to HF , then look at whats happening to SM, MW ,GM, AT, PM all tasting first team action!
Didn't a certain Danny Graham have to drop back a bit to regain his feet before getting on the right path to fulfill his potential? It could be that HF is on a similar course.
