I'm saddened and sorry to hear your story but not entirely surprised.
Another friend was the foreman of a jury-fairly serious case but with distinctly flaky evidence.
His view afterwards was "I never want to be judged by a jury. Getting them to shift off their predjudices and look at the evidence-both for & against the accused was almost impossible ".

Having been on a jury and worked in the Crown Court, if I was in trouble I would take a jury trial every day of the week.

    League Positions
Highest score of the day was an impressive 135 which takes Seb up into 3rd place. Brian extended his lead slightly over Charlie, but high scoring by both of them. Our guest tipper is well and truly on the slide, though he does have a game in hand (Arsenal v West Brom on monday - he has 2-0). Chris looks strong in 4th place.

I have edited/updated the league table to include the Arsenal v West Brom match tonight - this was the match which Lawro had outstanding. Unfortunately it finished 2-0 to Arsenal, which is what he tipped, so I have added 25 points to his total. This means he has risen from 8th to 5th - he does however need all the encouragement he can get.

    Watford Predictions League 2017/18

    League Table
Rather a dramatic week this time for us with no less than 8 scoring over a hundred. Actually 3 of us managed this without rising in the table. Highest scores of the day were by Yorkie and Canary Dave, both with 156, followed by Hornette with 154. At one time I thought that the 200 barrier might be broken with both Yorkie and Dave getting more or less all of their points from the first 6 games. All change at the top with Yorkie taking over and Seb moving up into second. All still quite close up there with no runaway leaders. We now have a 2 week break because of the internationals next week.

    Watford Predictions League 2017/18

    League Table
All change at the top again as Seb surges into the lead with another ton, will it be the same story as last year ? Brother Matej also get the highest score of the day, 129, moving him up to 6th. This will remain the highest unless Leicester beat West Brom 2-0 tomorrow night, in which case our guest from the BBC would score 134 - so come on you Baggies ! Other high scorers were Brag with 117 and Akureyrar with 99. A glance down the table shows that no huge gaps are appearing as yet. All quite close.
