    Callum has got the attributes to be a good footballer, pace and ability on the ball. But I agree with Vol he chooses the wrong option too many times and he has a tendency to give the ball away too easily. What gives me hope with him is that he is capable of playing like he did at Blackpool when he scored a hat trick. Too early to give up on him, it just needs someone to channel his ability in the right direction.

    yep, he just needs a word. someone to tell him he doesnt have to win it by himself and that he aint gonna score 30 yard wonder goals every match.

    Calling needs to move out of midfield. With his pace and finishing, it's not too late to change him to a wide forward.

    Off the ball he's ok, on the ball when he gives himself time to think is usually followed by running straight in to trouble.

    I don't understand all this technical positioning and tactical nonsense, we won. The only worrying part is where is everybody?? My first game this season and it seems that huge rows of seats that were modestly filled last season are now empty.

    i did ask for the official attendance on twitter but no reply. i'd not be too surprised that despite us winning and playing well at home, our attendances are still not climbing.

    maybe the plastics will be back if we're still in the top 6 come christmas.

    It's 3 games in a row where we've been disappointing IMO. After the goal (which Cousins deserves a lot of credit for) the next bright spark was the final whistle. Ben Haim was very lucky (again) not to concede a penalty, but we had enough bad luck last season that this doesn't bother me.

    As for the attendance, I don't think we'll see much change unless we are still in the top 6 come the festive period like SIG says.

    Very disappointed with the attendence, especially in the North lower. I reckon there must have been about 11000 to 12000 empty seats in the Stadium. We seem to be losing our support year on year which is very worrying.

    I can think of about 5 direct reasons why it is poor and probably another 5 that are contributory factors.


    Certainly, with results should bring improved attendance be worrying if it didn't.

    The official attendance was given as 17,600 <ok>

    In reality, it was around the 14,000 mark at most. Agree that the attendances seem to be steadily declining by around 1,000 a year. I have had a couple of bad experiences with the now legendary Charlton Customer Service already this season, this may be a factor in putting some people off. I find it very hard to speak to many staff at CAFC for even the most basic request without losing my rag.

    haha, this rings true.

    on one game this season i asked for a "pie and mash", the guy rang the till, charged me only £4 something. i thought "brilliant". he came back with a pie. and a mars bar. i had to explain to him what mash was. then with about 5 people queuing behind me, go through the process of trying to pay the difference. he couldnt work it out and was calling his supervisor, 'cos of the queue i just said dont worry and had a mars bar with my pie.

    Do you remember the classic TV show Little Britain? Remember the character "Computer Says No"? I am thinking of suggesting a new character for the next series, called "Charlton Customer Service Employee". Catchphrases will be....

    "nah, we can't do that" (said in between a mouthful of Doritos)

    Or

    "We 'avent got that size in stock"

    The above is the reason I don't buy anything at the Valley, food or drink. If I want a drink I will have it in the Pub away from the ground. With the food I will eat at Home or get something from a chippy. If I need some Charlton merchandise I will order online.

    I said this last season, that it was not the smartest idea employing non English speaking, non numerical, unwashed foreigners in catering positions. You wouldn't get Susan Boyle as a grand prix girl handing out the big bottles of champagne to the drivers. , so why employ the equivalent when handling food and money. It puts me off when I have to point to a picture of a burger and act like Lionel Blair when ordering a coke.

    It is no secret to hear the catering staff have been loaned in from Liege, and once they are fully competent in the art of pasty-warming, they will be returned to their paymasters.

    Come to think of it, I'm sure I saw Anil Koc pull a tray of sausage rolls out of the oven...

    must be my magical personality or my north Kent vowels (Erith was in Kent when I was born there) but I have never experienced the same problems as you lot with the ticket office or catering. Please and thank you works well with the catering fraternity and the booking office always smile (it might be that they are smirking at my ugly mug but I couldn't possibly believe that).

    I do have a problem with the attitude in the Nike emporium that is what has become of the club shop and the speed and bad grace of customer service in there staggers me on match days. I recall on one day shortly after the Nike acquisition seeing Dave Lockwood being refused entry because he was "to late we are now closed" and marvelling at how in hell Nike intended to make a profit other than by adding 20% to all the prices. Oh they have.... tick

    I have operated this policy on catering and purchasing now for 5 years

    1. Never buy from the tax dodgers, like Amazon, Costa Coffee and that fat crosseyed nobber from Take That.
    2. Never buy food from shops that do not employ at least two cashiers that are English born, particularly Prets, Superdrug, Kebab Ye and McDonalds - Exceptions are non chains, such as the Indian at Well Hall and Greggs.
    3. Never go to a store that has escalators going in but stairs going out, such as the Nike Shop, Marks & Spencers and Anne Summers

    I have kept to that rule now for 5 years and apart from putting on 28 stone and the wife walking around commando I think it works well.

    No Mcdonalds? Nothing straightens out a hangover on an away day more than a double sausage, egg mcmuffin meal.

    I actually have not had a McDonalds now for over 15 years. For no moral reasons, but a lawsuit I bought that went a bit I wrong. Everyone has heard of the story about a hot apple pie is over 20000 degrees and is hotter than the centre of the sun and a guy in the states got a 3 million dollar compensation claim when he burned his mouth on a hot apple pie- well that was in fact an urban myth. You try and get that one past the District Judge in the small claims court Leeds County Court! I was charged with contempt of court and banned from bringing any other claims for 10 years. My mate still has the petrol burns in his mouth even today.

    Yes but they pay tax and have a policy to employ English people. You can see at least three of them per store with their tattoos and chain smoking over the bacon rolls and looking bored - but they're at least English.
