I think it was the 3 games in 6 days that triggered it tbh ... ... and, tbf, we could've gone on to win the game, they were settling for a draw imo.
Didn't like the subs yesterday. Rusyn looked lost and Roberts was just beginning to get the better of the full back. Chasing the game after the penalty with a front 3 of Watson, Rusyn, Poveda. Eager to get the squad back to full fitness.
I know we’ve got a few out but that’s nowhere near good enough like I’d still snap your hand off for 6th place.
I thought it was a misstep by Regis. Didnt help our game plan much. Poveda looked lost for me. Now the reality is he may need to build up sharpness and I can understand that. But Roberts was on top at the time. Poveda is one of those players that is a bit of a punt. Like Roberts was. Hope he works out, but I dont see him as a starting player unless Roberts is ruled out. Until we see him earning it.
Interesting read If our Centre Forward could score goals as well as the rest of his game we would have been well ahead at half time, you had the second half for sure but the difference this year from last is we dont give up, last year in this game you would have won easily Good luck for the rest of your games apart from the return game Lets hope we both have something to celebrate at the end of the season
To be fair though I’ve heard this about players before. Mundle for example. Mayenda. Poveda may come good. He won’t if he doesn’t play. Roberts has impressed en this year though. I thought he might not make it in this division but he’s been great this season.
I thought you were really poor after you scored to be honest mate. Never looked like you were interested in winning. And certainly wouldn’t have had we not given you it with a silly challenge. Good luck for the season and thanks for visiting
Yeah thought that too. Didn’t like it at first but now I’ve seen more of it I really do!! We’re a fickle bunch aren’t we?
Watson was easily the best of the three , which should be no surprise to anyone who has watched the other two recently, RTG seems content but I am still worried about the two two Mikes in his ears on match days, nice lads but they have demonstrated repeatedly that they are clueless in any sort of team management as far as I can see. Having watched our 90 minutes , I thought Dan Neil was marginally our best mid field player over the 90 minutes, and hope he plays in our next two games, although I would take this opportunity to switch Jobe and Neil and replace any player looking below par at half time , this next home game is crucial, if we are to capitalise on our good start. Having said that early games are proving that any result/outcome is possible in this fascinating league.
Switching Jobe and Neil should really be dependant on the flow of the game IMO. If we're on top we need Jobe to be further forward and Neil dictating from deep. If we're under the cosh, Jobe's physicality and nasty streak may well help to stabilise us, though
Dan Neil should not have been in the position he was leading to penalty, one of the defenders should have been there. Could have been a different outcome. We now have lost 2 games, both by just the 1 goal and both by conceding a penalty. Lessons to be learnt.
Interesting point mate. I thought that at the time re the defenders. Regis said in his post match interview he seemed to be left in that 1v1 situation too long. No doubt they have analysed it as a group already and the whole play broken down. Not to excuse the challenge mind, it was ridiculous. I think criticism of Neil is fair enough, he has been a bit below his standards this year. But imo it has been OTT. I am not sure Ballard got the same grief for what was a similar sort of error at Plymouth. Patto got grief for his mistake, but again I dont think it was the same level. Players make mistakes, it is football and it is real life. Humans do inexplicable things at times. I quite liked Hume's summing up of it all. He said Dan knows he got it wrong, but we are rallying around him and he is our captain. Speaks to me of a squad that will not dwell on lads making errors.
I know there was a few of us discussing stats on Saturday, in particular in regards to Neil's performance He completed 85% of his passes Won 73% of his defensive duels 6 interceptions And 16 ball recoveries All cracking stats, however, I watched the game last night and he was poor My point on Saturday was stats don't tell a story, especially for players in a CM role. Those stats above are really good for a CDM however, the eye test showed me he had a poor game n has def been off form this season. The stats are not backing that up. **stats provided by wyscout**
He was definitely poor on Saturday but if you just judged on the stats he would be class as playing well
He’s been poor all season for me. Shouldn’t have been straight back in after suspension either but never mind.
