Over the weekend, we watched Unorthodox on Netflix. It is based on a true story of how a young Jewish wife escapes from an arranged marriage. My wife liked it better than I did .... but it does present a fascinating insight into the customs and lifestyle of (ultra?) Orthodox Jews in New York. There are sub-titles at times because at least half of the series - which lasts for 4 episodes) - is in Yiddish.
Watch the first episode on inside F1, very good insight to racing. I felt Ricardo’s mother was about to cry at any time. Then shocked by Magneson saying he wasn’t afraid to die racing and felt so sorry for the Has engineer doing the tyre change in the pit stop. I shall be watching more.
Bloody hell my Mrs has been going on about this one! She said it was a horrific Cult, she said even her family were controlling..................
That sort of extreme cult fundamentalism is not just in Judaism, it is in Christianity as well, just look at the Christian far-right in America, especially the fundamentalist groups, utterly nuts!.............. PS: Getting out of such strict and unhealthy mind control is not easy though, these closed cultish comunities are destructive as I see it...............
I’ve watched season 1, thought it was very good. Not a lot of loved lost between teams. Loved the bit with Renault and Red Bull. Saw the first one of season 2, nice not that Mercedes & Ferrari are in this one.
Never - recently watched Unbroken, based on the true story of a US Olympian who was a POW in Japan. Really enjoyed it There is also a sequel Unbroken: The path to redemption. Equally as good, shows him after he returns home and his he overcomes the trauma of his time in captivity
I’ve been watching Queen of the South on Netflix, really enjoying it. All about the drugs Cartel. Binged a few episodes yesterday got two more of series 1 to go, couldn’t watch tonight as Mrs Never was working and she’s got right into this one. There’s three seasons of this with 13 episodes each so only another 28 left.
I do like a good film to watch. Only just getting into Netflix. Mate in work has been telling me what’s good to watch.
Cheeky blighter - I haven’t watched anything all day, although I have taped Perry Mason on CBS Justice
Did anyone watch Noughts and Crosses, which was on BBC recently? Quite thought-provoking and a bit different. plenty to pick holes if one is of a mind but enjoyable all the same.
