London Wasps are set to appoint Dai Young as their new director of rugby, Sky Sports reports. The 43-year-old has been in charge of the Cardiff Blues for nine years, but is now the hot favourite to take over at Adams Park. The Blues have won both the Amlin Challenge Cup and EDF Energy Cup during Young's tenure. That has led Wasps to look to the ex-British & Irish Lions and Wales international as the man to help them back to winning ways. Young's current club are determined to keep hold of him though and have issued a strongly-worded statement to that effect. The statement said: "We have had no approach from London Wasps regarding Cardiff Blues director of rugby David Young. "David Young is still in contract at the Blues and has one year to run on that contract, which we expect him to honour." Young would replace interim boss Leon Holden at Wasps. Holden had been in the post since the departure of Tony Hanks in February.
