It's all a load of London-biased footballing media guff, yet again. Let's see what irrelevant dirt we can dig up on North East football, yawn, yawn, yawn.

I'd happily appoint Kim Jong-il as manager of NUFC if it won us matches and brought success. Even in his current state.

Since when did Question Time buy the rights for Premier League highlights anyway?

We all know he'll do a decent job and turn things around for them, it's just our luck! :D

I can't get my head around why they went for him.
Great thread by oldBill!
We shouldn't forget that old tale about a genuine rooky of a manager, who had never managed before, had been away from the game for years, who waltzed into the North East's biggest club in the second tier, and within 2 years had them sitting with the top two in the Premiership in 1994...

My take is that Di Canio is starting to look a very good prospect as a football manager. He's taken a cash strapped, destitute Swindon to being one of the best teams in the their league. He's done this on his own, without any investment, as far as I can see. He's a firebrand character who will scare that lot sh*tless into working and defending - ie not like Obertan.

It may be too late for Sunderland with the run-in they have, but I doubt we'll get an easier game in the derby with their new boss shouting from the touchline at them, and physically kicking any Sunderland player who doesn't put a shift in ...

I could be wrong, but he looks a good appointment to me.

And sadly, Bramble won't probably be playing against us ....

personally i think Di Canio is an excellent get, whether he can keep them is up debatable however i would rather be is Sunderlands place than Reading, Villa and QPR
