I think that's the problem most of us have though. Fair enough go to Stoke and sit back for half, or maybe most of the game, but when you can see that Stoke are not exactly playing brilliantly you have to take it to them and try to put them on the back foot.
We cannot keep relying on a 'park the bus' strategy in all away games. I can see Palace nicking another 1 0 win in this one unless we have a go from the start.
you were away and stoke can sometimes turn it on and a point away is better than no points trying to get a win and letting yourself wide open. MM called it right imo. Always make sure you can get a point when you are away and if you get all three then thats a bonus when two teams are evenly matched..
The way I read your Scotsman is this, he's no fool and a very shrewd cookie, and it's his first ever season in the Premiership, so he's not going to go all guns blazing, and it will take him at least half a season to get used to the pace and style of the Premier League teams, so when he has fully digested how the land lies, then I think after Christmas break, you'll see him take those chances at the extra points. It can be very tempting, to see a team that looks there for the taking, only to find that you've opened yourself up to a deadly counter attack, so I think that you need to be a bit more patient until at least the new year, and see how he sets you up then, and how he handles the bench!................
Gutted !! I agree with BOTH the comments above Also gutted that my RED lights have gone green ..... Help me here JH
I hope now you can understand our excessive sideways passing in our first season Don't get be wrong it can be boring with such defensive tactics, but in your first season it is ALL about survival. Our second season and this one now under laudrup sees us playing with far more control and attacking intent as we have had the time to build a competitive premiership side. We had mark gower starting most our games in our first season ffs!!
