It's not something I would have taken - but in the circumstances that a club legend is taking us up, and in a ''ruthless and romantic'' way, it just lead me to ask ''was it worth it''. I think we would have struggled in the Championship if promoted with any of the other teams, management and board.

This feels like the start of something special. Famous last words? Maybe.

Even if everything implodes from today it has been something special to experience the dominance that this team has had in the league.
Sitting last summer and wondering why we hadn't re-signed our player of the season was enough to give a hint that something big was unfolding and the volume of transfers and signings surely wasn't an indication of a manager or owners who believed a little tinkering would get us right.

Bold moves that had to have been agreed by owners, steered by a manager who was not happy with second best show that there is, I hope, much more to come from the Valley. The butterflys in my stomach at the start of the season were settled in the first few outings of the team even though there were some questionable performances in the early part of the season. The further bold decisions that have been taken since clearly indicate to me that this is not a project that will be over if we win the league this season. The team has the quality to go on in the Championship (having watched Southampton West Ham and Leeds over the past few days who can doubt that). There is unfinished business to be done at a higher level Than we are playing today.

As supporters I hope we will owe a big thank you to CP for what he has done this season and to the Owners for putting their faith in CP. (I've got so many fingers and toes crossed it is difficult to type or walk). The next seven games will be the fulcrum of our season - Easter Monday could be a very big match for us.
