These theories are fun for half an hour on the Discovery Channel, but there's a good reason historians and the likes don't take them seriously. There is no real evidence and everything Hancock et al speel out as proof of aliens, Atlantis, Ancient Civilisations can be explained in a far more ordinary way quite easily.

    By whom? Traditional historians?

Who says the Piri Reis map is a fake exactly?

We're not debating whether or not it's a genuine 16th Century map, we're debating the point that Antarctica is depicted.

Any ideas on why people from different parts of the world look so different? Was there one original language or more. If more why is that? Would you like a cup of tea?

Given that most societies were built - out of necessity - around a reliable source of water, it's hardly surprising they have flood myths.

And they don't correlate with Noah. Plus, why hasn't the Ark been found? We know where it should be, and how big it should be, but it's not been discovered. Why is that?

When you consider Asia suffers with extensive periods of rain during the Monsoon, Africa has the Nile, which floods yearly, South America has the Amazon, which floods yearly, etc... Is it surprising that flood myths exist?

Yet you said the Babylonians were the original tellers of that tale?

Almost anyone and everyone who doesn't also think 9/11 was an inside job, the Moon landings were faked and that Elvis is still alive.

How do you know where it should be? Did someone find a ticket reservation? Maybe it's not there which would explain why it's not been found. Maybe is broken up over the years. Maybe bits floated up on an island and Robinson Crusoe used them for firewood. I don't know.

Well according to Genesis, it came to rest on Mt Ararat.

    That's a pretty big indicator... <doh>
