    The Guardian article referred to in that piece is well worth a read, and the closing paragraph quoted never fails to bring a tear to my eye, daft softie that I am!

    "One day, far in the future, after all those who will watch his final race at Ascot are gone, a horse may win a Classic at Epsom, or maybe at Newmarket, and someone in the grandstand will trace through its pedigree, come upon the name of Frankel and think to themselves: 'Ah, the mighty Frankel. Now there's a horse I'd have loved to see racing.'

    We did."

    Thanks Princess. Nice to see that times are a valid part of assessing a horse's achievements. That chosen para brought a tear to my eyes

    I would suggest it is a fitting note to end the thread, with the conclusion "NO. Frankel was not over-rated"
