cant say I dislike the bloke … is up front and plays out to the media … pity more were not like him .. a real character, brings a bit of "non hatred controversy to the ear " not some molly coddled "false" personage …...always looking to protect their own back by belittling others … gives and takes!!!! hope it is not more than just a test positive …..

I'd recommend his book to anyone here who hasn't read it. Decent and interesting read - funny comments about Lansdown in there too following the Palace play-off games.

ferguson. shankly, paisley, clough, dalglish, wenger etc were great, great managers, warnock never was and and never will be a great, i wish him well though and a swift recovery,

The best record in the championship by far for getting teams promoted.
You’ve got to ask yourself why that is. A great manager will get someone promoted and stay there. A manager who gets a few promotions but almost ends being sacked or relegated the following season is not a great manager. Just a manager that the championship is their level.

Perhaps if city would have appointed him sometime ago we would have hit the big time long ago.

He certainly knows how to get teams there.

with such a brilliant track record, why has a top club never looked at him, obviously realised just how one dimensional he is, thank god hes never rocked up here.

I see Warnock as being an excellent 'fixer' at Championship level - getting teams promoted, or saving them from the drop.
He's never cut it in the premiership because (IMHO) his specialty is getting 'average' players to play above themselves. That doesn't work at Premiership level because 'average' players will get found out and 'true' Premiership players' ego's won't respond to that type of coaching.
He's found his 'niche'.
