Thom, so your theory is if you are in a car heading towards a cliff, then you should only get concerned as you go over it?
As I asked: "He says he wants Varney to replace Snodgrass and only three more signings are needed, one of which is Peltier. If that happens, is it still 'give Neil a chance', or is it time to do the sensible thing and appoint a transfer overseer?"
'Thom, so your theory is if you are in a car heading towards a cliff, then you should only get concerned as you go over it?' Why should i be concerned at all ? I expect to come out of it intact whereas people like you go over ready to meet your maker. Be positive and put some trust in the manager and players ffs.
Lets not get into any infighting as its counter productive. Players have left, yet I don't mind as the club clearly and openly offered White & Snodgrass decent contracts (unlike in the past). Remember, most Leeds fans on here were supportive of Warnock's appointment, their argument was he has a proven record and knows how to build a promotion winning team etc. So lets not start to belittle and doubt the man until his team has played at least 10 games. Nobody knows what the season will bring, its an interesting league with many experienced teams and managers. Personally I recognise that Neil has done a great deal of work to rectify an understrength defence, but fear that more is still required. Without Howson, Clayton & Snodgrass the midfield this season will be vastly different to last years, but who knows it might be even better once we bring a couple more players in. Up front I hope we give Gray a chance as my gut tells me he has fire in his belly and a point to prove.. At least this time around the weight of expectation is not on their shoulders.
The forum seems split 50/50 on if the signings are the quality we were hoping for or if they are good enough for a promotion winning side. I am sitting on the negative Norris fence simply because the majority of the signings have been from a team lower than us and we have lost two of our better/best? players. I still have a little hope running through my veins simply because the defence is better and because we have Warnock in charge who I believe is one of the best in this division - He asked us to trust him and and I do but not blindly, I am not going to believe we will be promoted because Warnock asked for trust. I will be supporting the team fully when the season kicks off and debating the positives and negatives no doubt along with everyone else. At the end of the day we are all entitled to an opinion but our opinions good or bad will count for nothing, we don't get to pick the players or select the team and the differing opinions on here show why none of us our managers
Ristac, I don't think we are divided on player quality... They do not seem much better that the current crop. The question is will the sum equal more than its parts...? Last year the the team was far worse than its individuals, this year who knows...
Give over and go play with Wycombe and Brizzle Rovers, the only thing you've ever wound up is an alarm clock.
