I also thought we played well in the first half and one thing I would like to add to Matt's "spot on post" was that you didn't take the stats into account because for the away team they were impressive to say the least. Oslo, I also had that feeling about Mackie and then he pops up from nowhere but I do feel that SWP or Bothroyd should have come on for the last 10/15 mins as a replacement for Heider as I thought he was looking tired plus it would have given an extra dimemsion to our forward play.
I would have Heider off as well, their defence looked shaky after we scored. A little shuffle up top would have had them at sixes and sevens with little Shaun running at them. I'm disappointed that we didn't go on to win that game.

Win-win as far as I'm concerned!
Was never a Warnock fan since way before he came to the R's. The anger on the touchline, the 'break his leg' yells, the 'always someone else's fault' attitude, the dreadful football his teams played. But this has turned first to tolerance, then to grudging respect, now to qualified ( but not uncritical) support. He has not only worked a minor miracle with the R's, but has attempted to turn himself round as well - much less critical of other teams/ managers, more temperate approach to officials (even dire ones like yesterday), and he tries to play football. I will not agree with all of his tactical, selection and substitution decisions, but I know he is operating to the best of his ability and has info (performance in training, injury niggles, personal issues) that the rest of us will never have. He makes me cringe occasionally when interviewed, but at least it's not boring. He is also in unknown territory for him - in the Premier League with money to spend. I find it impossible to imagine him being sacked before the end of the season, and am happy with this. If we go down, or perhaps survive by the skin of our teeth he may 'retire' at the end of the year (probably to be back in the Championship within months). If we survive in some comfort (I.e with a couple of games to go) he'll be here next season as well - under real pressure - money spent, his squad, no excuses. Is he my dream QPR manager? Probably not, but can see no benefit of putting him under job security pressure now - the alternatives (Mark Hughezzzzzzzz anyone, or a big name foreigner with no English experience) are just not worth thinking about at this stage of the season. Criticism of him on here will continue and that's fair enough, but let's keep it real.
I fully back him and even find his interviews entertaining but appreciate your beautifully explained and (slightly) contrasting viewpoint.
Well done SB.73: first one on this thread to have a balanced opinion. We were dreadful for 35 minutes in the first half IMO and our inability to pass or keep the ball was almost non-league standard. But equally Warnock again managed to get the same set of lads to turn things around at half time and we were unlucky not to win in the end. So while criticism may well be due for trying to play without any kind of width he should take the plaudits for making the best of a difficult siutuation. Not sure about playing for a point at the end however. Swansea were clearly under the cosh and introducing SWP (for Taarabt) in the last 15 minutes would have run them ragged.
Cheers Matt and Aaaagh. The above said I will be furious if we don't go for it against Arsenal, as there is nothing to lose there and they will destroy whatever CB combo we put out if we sit back. Swansea game should be good practice - they try to play the same pretty football - but with less speed and much less talent.
Great post Stan. Pretty much how I see it atm. Forget Blades and Palace, NW's the Rs manager now and has clearly cut his cloth to suit. Of course he needs to clue himself up a bit more and deliver a more complete prem manager package, but he sure deserves time and our wholehearted respect for dragging us back into the picture. Doesn't mean I won't go potty on the back of a winnable loss. I'm just a fickle fan and bad loser to boot! But this guy's clearly one of our best ever. Not many have won a title outright at first stab and for that we have to remain forever grateful.
Took a lot of stick for this post but ended up being vindicated and appears more so since he has left. Could see he had lost the plot, and I see plenty have changed their opinions.
Amazes me that you still harp on about this 9! Seems you posted this after we had done well at Swansea! I don't think Neil should have been replaced, but he was. He did brilliant for us. But now we move on with new Management, and it would be great to enjoy all the succes we get now, without seeing it twisted into another attack on the man that has got us where we are today.
Glad we acted and glad he has gone. The man did a great job for us but you could see he was not up for the job. He had lost the plot and we as a club have made the right decision. He seemed in awe of the premier league and had no conviction unlike Rodgers and lambert. I now believe we will stay up, I did not with warnock in charge.
Respect what you feel 9, but don't tell me what I see! I think he was well up for the job, and would have kept us in the PL!
No chance, there was an instant step up in performances after the change even though our team got weaker with the loss of Faurlin. Buz wouldnt have played and we would not won our last 2 matches. Taarabt and Buz would have left as well weakening the team even further and the additions would not have been so good as it was known prospective players did not want to play for him.
Well we'll never know but I don't agree with you. Neil was also very good at convincing good players to come, and reckon we would have more got more in by now given the funds and opportuinity given Mark.
