Would prefer S O'Driscoll to either Colin or Hollowhear especially if you are talking about proven managers at this level or even Atkins if he became available.

Certain fans keeping on to him to get in a decent CH and playing players in their right position....it's a start!

I didn't know you had Del's personal phone number, we bow to your superity and perseverance in keeping on at Del oh great one.

Nothing to do with we failed 4 times that us mere mortals know about in the summer to get a CH.

I can actually confirm that Del does now hang on to your every post and has employed a man to make sure as soon as you post a suggestion he makes sure that your plan is put in to immediate effect. Thats how we managed to sneak a win yesterday.

No mate, I think it was the booing after the Charlton game that he knew he had to start acting like a manager.
So are you saying we don't/didn't need a CH and it was ok to play players out of position? Are you saying over the year he's been here all has been ok?
Some of it is darn right basics!

We all know we have some major problems, we all know we have needed defensive signings, even Del, thats why he tried signing several different CH's

Do you seriously think we are all happy to have been bottom of the league? Do you not think we are all disappointed to have had such a bad spell? of course all City fans are disappointed but most realise that yes, we have been unlucky with injuries and we have had a boatload of bad luck. I also don't think we are such the massive draw to prospective players (and managers) as some seem to think we are.

I dont think that can all be unloaded at the managers door!

Has he made mistakes, well in my opinion, yes he certainly has. No way would I have picked that side yesterday, I find his substitutions strange sometimes. All modern managers have this insistence on picking players out of position. In fact if you go visit 90% of the other forums on here randomly, you would find exactly the same arguments and comments regarding their managers making exactly the same 'so called' mistakes. (I've done that and its uncanny!)

Like all football forums we all go off the scale when we win a couple and drop off a cliff when we lose a couple, thats the way it will always be.

Happy clapper? Well I predicted we would finish 18th probably the lowest of all the predictions on here at the time so I like to think more of a realist!

Sack the manager? No not for me, we cant keep changing managers every 5 minutes, we need to show some patience this time and I am quite aware it will be a bumpy ride on the way.

I can also remember when spending 6 years in the championship seemed like a faraway pipe dream! Ask the gas fans they would give their last good eye to swap..

Well said Banksy, a bit of common sense.

I also tried to bring some reason when people on here said we would be pushing for a top 6 (ha ha !) or top 2 (ha ha ha ha ha ha!) finish.

At Bristol City nothing is, or ever has been easy or straightforward.

I was overjoyed when we got Del, and yes, like most others I've been very unhappy with the recent crappy run and performances, but I know he will come good, and there are mitigating circumstances too.

Would be interesting to find the prediction thread again. I think I predicted 12-18 and I also said we just need to consolidate this season.
With the past few seasons we have had it was always going to be difficult to attract players to the club. Even in January this year it will be difficult.

    But well said Banksy <applause>

Just remember you said the above...
Del didn't get us there but could quite likey take us out of it and I don't mean in the Premiership direction.

Can't disagree with anything you've said,I like Del and want him to stay,I still think 15th to 18th is likely and I'll be happy with that.

You talk a load of sense banksy...

Onefor we all know on here that your superior to all of us, all your posts refelect that, none of us new that we wanted a couple of quality CH, none of us new that we wanted at least one quality mid-field general, so we all bow down to your superior knowledge, and by the way, seeing you see 6months ahead of any other poster on here, perhaps you can enlighten us on the outcome for the rest of this season.
Sorry to be hard work for you, but being as intellegent as you are, didn't think anything could be hard work for you. :)

    Football eh?

Yesterday proves that just as you think you can predict a dead cert result it will kick you hard where it hurts... We will have a few more good days and a few more bad days this season and you can bet on that!!

I find it rather sad that we are attacking each other on here again but I suppose at least it's not over poor little Lee J this time I suppose.
I think that Del should be given more time. My opinion and I do respect those who feel otherwise.
We need to remember that there are no quick fixes - no magic wand. Alan Dicks struggled in his first full season with us and people were calling for him to go. SAF had the same at Man U and he hasn't done that badly really considering.
Our own GJ went on a winless run of 10 games when he first took over but he then went on to take us to our highest league position since 1980.
Stick with DM for now methinks.

Like SL said in his interview before the Blackpool game, "we have a decent squad of players that should be performing much better than they have".
Which contradicts what quite a few on here, when we lose.
Del at long last has broke into the loan market to get a couple of players that have been so badly needed, especially since Cunningham was carried off at Pboro.
As time went on and we lost a few, confidence went down and Del struggled to find/know his best side which makes matter worse for confidence.

We should now find out what Del is made of, now we have stopped the rot. WE CAN NOT AFFORD ANOTHER BAD RUN LIKE WE RECENTLY HAVE HAD because there are (IMO) NO more excuses.
I also feel SL will be thinking exactly the same.

I've said before and will say again and again DM has rose coloured quartz bottle bottom glasses on when he watches Fontaine, He must have a total blind spot concerning him he played well for a few games after Del arrived and that seems to convince him that he is vital to the team, sorry to keep saying this because he CAN play well(JJust NOT often enough) but the team would have been better if the transfer to Southhampton had gone ahead. From what I saw of Danny Wilson at Blackpool he is already better than Fonts and looks like he might develop into something special, McManus is also a far better stopper CH than Fonts could ever be(shame about his injury) Bates I don't know much about except he is another player whose carear has been blighted by injury so I have to trust the managements opinion on him, but given the chance would hope we could sign McManus and Danny Wilson and wave goodbye to Fontaine and Nyatanga as the afore mentioned players are far better than the former now is Bates the missing RCB we need I don't know but Louis Carey is obviously not the future there this must be his last season as a player at Championship level.
Cunningham and Bryan now provide great cover for the troublesome LB position RB Skuse and either Foster/Wilson M/Edwards two need to go cover that position, CB's if we can pos sign SM and DW that sorts out LCB but RCB remains problematic ?Bates ?Wilson J are they good enough I just don't know, Midfield we have to sign Danns or someone in his mold with Elliott and Morris(if he ever gets fit)Adomah, Pearson we have a good basis to start from but we are short of quality on the left flank Woolford can play well but only in fits and starts I think he needs to be at a smaller club(In terms of playing staff)and be the main man in midfield to get the best out of him and thats not going to happen at the Gate as he is way behind Adomah and Danns and Marvin in those stakes. We have enough cover in the striking dept Davies is in terms of goals to time on the pitch far superior to Maynard even at his best for us. If we can get and more importantly keep our first team fit we have a team as capable as any in the championship this season.
