Neil was brilliant for us,you only need to look back over the 22 months, and we are on target for PL survival. Unless the Board have someone a lot better to step in (and I don't reckon Hughes or anyone else mentioned is) this decision could easily send us down again. Even during the last 8 matches there have been strong signs we were picking up again, and unlucky not to get more at Swansea and against Sunderland and Norwich.

Day after and I'm still sick about this decision. A disgusting, terrible decision. Ali's injury makes it all worse. Last nights beers made it all worse. F'kk, F'kk F'kkk. And still one or two are blaming some strange substitions, of players with knocks with a few minutes left!!! Still have not seen a viable replacement mentioned.

I love Neil but must agree with the above.....he has just lost it in the last few matches...the refusal to play 2 upfront, the ranting at the officials (it was right in Joeys case, but some how too much...(compare to the response of Mancini on TV yesterday, which was as effective but much more controlled and cleverer)...he lost the team, they thought he is fussing over the bits on the side...not the core issues.
When Faurlin went (don't you hate the 3rd Round of the Cup), TF probably thought....what the hell is Neil going do now....and I suspect it was the injury to Faurlin that final pushed the boat out

Anyone who believes we were on target for PL survival really needs to looks at the facts, the form of the bottom teams over the last 10 PL games is as follows:
Wolves LDDDLLWLLW = 8pts
QPR LDLLLDLWLL = 5pts
Bolton WDLWLLLLLW = 10pts
Wigan LDLDDWLWDL = 10pts
Blackburn LWDLLLWLDL = 8pts
Does that really look like survival form?
I do think a bit of luck or better tactics & we could quite easily have an additional 5/6 points which would have made all the difference.
Oslo - He was not keeping us up , he was taking us down. Our form has been poor and we have slipped from a comfortable position to the brinks of bottom 3 and at present are probably the worst team in the league. I'm glad the board has acted now , its given us a fighting chance. Nelly would not have kept us up imo.
I do feel a little sorry for NW though. The whole world now knows he's a **** EPL manager. His career in this league is finished. But he can still make a decent living getting teams up. His contract with that club ends when he gets them promoted, then he moves to another.
I find it a sad truth that football is what it is nowadays. I like loyalty. Perhaps if F and B had exited with a little more grace, they may have allowed neil a proper preseason, maybe the Bolton, Wigan, Newcastle and villa matches might have been different. Maybe then we'd have accumulated more points already and the picture would look different. Footballing fate is determined by such small margins and unfortunately, neil has fallen the wrong side of the fine line. I'll not remember NW for anything other than the man who turned our fortunes and gave us the chance to lament our current situation. In warnock we trusted, until we bottled it. I hope you go on to enjoy better times, neil. Thanks for everything.
9! Noone will ever know if we would have stayed up or not with Neil now! We are in 17th place which was and is our target for this season, and with with funds to bring in new players. IE: On Track. I think we had a better chance of staying up with Neil than anyone else I can think of that we are likely to get in now. The last vote I saw on here showed over 70% in favour of Neil stayng this season - so it seems to me that the Board has acted without the backing or wishes of QPR supporters - have read the same in the media this morning. For me it is a terrible decision, unless they have a really top quality man ready to replace him, which I don't see yet.

NW is perfect for a side looking to scrap their way out of a division. He is far from perfect to take forward a Premier League club whose owners are considering making a further huge investment. His tactics are pretty much unchanged whether his team play Millwall or Man United and although he is able to motivate players as well as any manager we have had it simply isn't enough to throw a big budget squad out on the pitch hoping for a heart and soul response but without the organization to make the best use of their talents. I almost cringe when I recall the number of long punts over the heads of a five man midfield we have seen this season - this is the Premier League for gawds sake. Not to mention the fact that we are QPR with a fine tradition of football. So, cheers Neil, this separation is best for all concerned (although personally I would have risked keeping him on to the end of the season).
Asking fans would make it an emotional decision and not necessarily in the club's best interests. This is a business decision, there's always an element of risk but he can't afford to wait until we're actually relegated. According to the majority of opinions on this board, that's exactly where we were heading under NW.
Many thanks to Neil and I genuinely hope that he is back in work soon, if that's what he wants. He'll probably buy Derry, Hill, Hall, Hulse and Orr from us if he can.
I think the timing shows that the Board found this very difficult and wanted Neil to succeed - the logical time to sack him would have been straight after Norwich. But the abject performance against Dons and the fact that the uncertainty was probably making it harder to sign players forced them to act. Sad to say I think they got it right.

From what I have heard, and Beard has confirmed, Neil and his staff knew they were being sacked before the Dons game, which explains their lack of enthisiasm described on here. I am totally against the decision to fire Neil, unless they have a real top quality replacement, but having made this for me wrong decision, I do have to agree with their timing which does allow some time for a new Manager to bring in the players he wants in the January window.
If anyone is in any doubt as to the impact Sir Neil Warnock had on QPR, I would urge you to watch the Four Year Plan DVD. Wince at all the bizarre shenanigans going on, and then see how you feel when Warnock arrives. The emotion that you feel knowing, what he is about to achieve is incredible. Take a bow Sir Neil, your a Rangers legend.

I am also gutted and think our best chance of survival was with NW unfortuately I can not see us staying in this division longer than this season no matter who comes in. We must ask the question is the new manager willing to stay with the club in the Championship, Mark Hughes won't as he left Fulham in the Premier league because of they lacked ambition nor does he have the pedigree to get a team promoted?
Lets face it in a couple of months time the owners new manager will be saying that they didn't have time to bring in the type of players that they wanted and that the best midfielder has been out with injury AND I believe it is a big ask if he does get the team playing well it will take a several matches for a new style/approach to sink in and for new players to gel and at this moment we will be playing the top six teams, I hear another excuse coming after that!
For these reasons I see this as a poor decision our owners say they are looking at the future, well I hope they prove me wrong but the reasons I have just stated together with a bit of common sense I really can't see the new manager adding any more than another 17 to our total and 34 points will not keep us in this division. I know this sounds gloomy and pesimistic but I am only using common sense and should this be the case who should we turn to then??
I am sad to see NW go and must say 'Thank you Neil' for what he did getting us out of that crap division and reengaging us with proper football and proper clubs.

Ellers has it 100% spot on including the problem with the timing. Having bottled it after the Sunderland game when the problems were clear for all to see the lesser risk was to retain Warnock until the end of the season. Whatever quality of manager and new players now emerges it may already be too late when they start to gel.
I've had to take some stick from fellow QPR Not606'ers regarding my dislike of Warnock and I am not exactly gutted to see him go. However, when we take a whimsical look back in a few years it won't be his sacking that we remember but the fact that he was in charge when we got promoted. I am with Rodney, Disgusting what they have done to NW. Should have let him stay to end of season , NW got our team up so he should go down with us!. Then start again or then let NW go. Not now half way in the season, who are we going to get now ? It just shows Honor is dead! After supporting Rangers for over 60 years I just give up! NW came along and picked us up from the bottom and got us here and this is what we ( club) do to him.How sad and dishonest of us all.
