I think its fair enough for their fans who stuck by it through thin and thinner to get a bit excited about the future. When you've plunged to the depths of league 1 having endured years of defeats, and **** home form, I think you're entitled to enjoy the wins.

The ones I can't get away with are the deserters. The ones who stopped going to matches, or disappeared from forums having previously given it the biggun (usually under the auspice of the forum losing its way or people not discussing football), and now slink back in without a word or claiming the club is being run properly or a forum has got back on track. **** off. Say it like it is, you're a fairweather **** who doesn't like it when you aren't in the ascendancy.

I've actually got a great deal of respect for the few hundred who stuck out the tough times, stayed until the end of games, or those who took their medicine on forums etc etc. Regardless of rivalry, we know how **** it can get supporting a North East club with no ambition. We know how it tests your loyalty to the max. Those guys get a small doff of the cap. The others creeping back in get hit with the fairweather stick quite rightly.

 

Fair point Pouchy and I do agree with the sentiments but there is no need to exaggerate the figures.

Right I'm royally confused. Who is back and who do we want to see this? I mean I could name a few names who have slinked back on our board from the dark side. Bri reappeared for a quick dig a few weeks back having strangely disappeared after relegation to League 1. I think we were on a bad run and they had won a few against the might of League 1.

However you get the likes of Sid who come on through thick and thin, give and take banter regardless of ascendancy. We haven't seen quite a few now who had plenty to say during our time in the championship. You then have their fans who are starting with the feel good everything is rosy craic. The fans who stuck it out deserve that, the ones who didn't are just fairweather types. They support wins and good times, but when the going gets tough...

Sorry to disappoint you lads but it wasn't really aimed at anyone in particular. There are too many fairweathers to target only one or two
