The Tories being the party of the economy is a load of tosh anyway. Harold Wilson and Tony Blair hardly inherited booming bank balances, think of John Major and Black Wednesday, to name one example. Clement Atlee should be given much more credit for his role in shaping the UK economy and putting us back on recovery after the Second World War.

No JWM,it isn't yours. The Attlee government achieved arguably more than any other in history. Against a backdrop of austerity and a shortage of almost everything they made huge advances, not least of all giving us the NHS.

So that's why the Tories swept back into power in 1951.

Just talking about the 1950s it is astonishing to think that the Conservatives were the dominant party in Scotland during that decade! Even during Thatchers Government the Conservatives held many seats there. So much for the myth that Scotland hated the Tories during the 1980s!

Oh and Cruyff you were around when Wilson had to devalue the Pound in 1967 and Healey had to go hot foot to the IMF in 1976. Can you tell us why these things happened?

Don't tell me it was all caused by Global Banking Crises!

    How so?

John Major polled the largest Popular Vote of all time in 1992 even beating the Atlee landslide of 1945!

Tony Blair polled a lot less but romped in by 179!

    These are facts.
