The military advisor on SKY News, says that Israel don't want the fighting to end because they have the 'upperhand' (my words) so to speak and have many 'objectives' (advisors word). Israel want to keep on 'dismantling the Iranian structure' (advisor). So now it depends how much Trump can reign them in and IF he really wants to.

So it sounds to me that Israel want to smash Iran while they've got the chance, which they consider they now have. While I understand that for wider reasons ie Iran's death clock. It was never part of my thought process, remove the nuclear capability and then sit round the table. problem here is I'm not Israeli and it's not my life at risk if the wrong decisions are made.

Having said all that, I really can't see Netty pissing Trump off, whenever I see the two together it always comes across that Netty bows to Trump. The catch here is how much does Trump really want peace, and what security promises does he give in return. It's certainly not advisable for Israel to fall out with the US, but can't ever see that happening.

I could see him falling out with Netanyahu for sure, but I would be amazed to see him turn on Israel regardless of what they do in the Middle East.

Israel didn’t want a ceasefire. They wanted to smash Iran and they were very happy when Trump jumped into the conflict, exactly what Netanyahu wanted.

Problem for Netanyahu though is that Trump has his whole MAGA crowd to placate, who voted him in on the back of his promise that he wouldn’t get involved in foreign ‘forever wars’ and that he would put America first and foremost at all of his policy making.

And Trump himself doesn’t want to be known as the president who dragged the US into another war in the Middle East. He sees himself as the deal maker, the guy who gets people to bend to his will in order to take the credit.

And do you know what, as critical of Trump as I am, I actually think he’s taken the right approach with this, get them to agree to a ceasefire and bang their heads together when they start kicking off again.

Trump has got what he wanted, and whilst Israel won’t admit it, they have too. They’ve taken out the nuclear threat, and they’ve severely damaged Iran’s ballistic missile capability.

And whilst I’ve no doubt that both Iran and Israel still want to wipe each other out, I’m glad that Trump will force them to sit around the table and negotiate.

If there’s going to be a lasting peace, or at least an absence of conflict there. Then another issue around nuclear weapons is still outstanding. And that is Israel’s nuclear weapons. Undeclared and without any inspection or oversight.

The non proliferation treaty (which Iran are signed up to) has been swept under the rug in Israel. If they were forced to sign up to it, then they would have to disarm

So what do we do about that situation ? Allow one side to have nuclear weapons, whilst threatening to bomb the other again if they make moves to develop one ? Imo if you have two nations that both want to wipe each other off the map, then take away both of their nuclear weapons and make sure neither of them have the capability

 

Probs part of your problems bro that you can’t see that a group of lads getting together to celebrate can be anything other than gay.

what I see is a the equivalent of a night out on the town, albeit without any of the alcohol, drugs and fighting that seems to accompany a typical Saturday night in most UK towns.

 

Yeah I can’t see him turning on Israel, but falling out with Netanyahu for sure.

If that does happen I can absolutely see Trump giving him the Zelenskyy treatment though, I.e ‘I’ve enabled you to be a tough man’ so you do what I tell you or I’m taking your toys away.
