I think we need to send Piskie out there, he'd know how to solve this problem... please log in to view this image
What about the Saudis? They’ve got a lot to say. How many Palestinians have they took in since Israel struck back after Oct 7th?
Just checked there’s more European countries have opened their doors to the Palestinians than Arab countries lol. Jordan are the only country really pulling their weight and treating them well. Syria have accepted quite a few but they’re constantly being moved from place to place and not really welcomed. Lebanon are the only other country that is hosting them out there and they’re treating them like **** when it comes to work opportunities and medical care. Nobody else is taking them including Egypt who seem to be heading a lot of the negotiations to keep them in Palestine but won’t accept a single one of them in their country. 3 countries, that’s it.
I don’t think the Gazans want to go anywhere. That’s kind of the point they have been saying all along. But if they did move, then Israel should take them. They are the ones who’ve trashed the gaff. You’d soon get a guarantee of a right of return from those ****s too
They were trying to get into Egypt but the Egyptians shut the gate on them and beefed up security there. I defo remember that happening
Yeah but it’s just a ****ty bit of desert on the Sinai and folk are saying they shouldn’t be forced to live in tents. And Trump said they should live in nice modern homes. Get Israel to take them in, they’ve got loads of fancy hotels apartments and amenities. They could even live there permanently like Donny wants, you know on the land that was theirs anyway.
This is where you play politics bro. Do you really think sending Palestinians into Israel is going to be good for their happiness but more importantly their safety after everything that has happened over the last 16 months? Being Palestinian land is open for debate. Historians largely agree it was the Jews that were there first thousands of years ago.
Of course I don't bro. I'm being entirely facetious. And even then it still makes more sense than Trump's ridiculous plans.
I’d stop taking notice of that clown, mate. At some point he’ll turn on us about the NHS or something else when he’s after benefitting his own country. I see him playing the soft roll with Starmer, drawing him in as a key ally and then at some point he’ll try to play on that to get what he wants from us.
Trump is on one like but, so far it's all been talking. I'd like to point out that so far he hasn't actually applied a single sanction or tariff.
Hasn't he applied an additional ten percent on China? He has "postponed" the ones on Mexico and Canada so far
Yeah I think you are right Bobby, you just reminded me, I remember them disccusing it on the news. It came in on the 1st Feb for the Chinese. Reason I remember is because they said most Chinese goods come by ship, and it takes three weeks for the ships to reach their destination, so they were saying it would be three weeks before the tariffs started to roll in. The stuff that comes by air, which is a much smaller percentage would take affect more or less immediately. I'll have to try and find the article.
Found it...to corrrect part of my comment there, it's 15 days + Worth a watch, detail is quite good... https://news.sky.com/video/when-will-trumps-tariffs-on-chinese-goods-kick-in-13303133
Yes he has, and I think the Mexico/Canada ones are only postponed for a month. Whatever he actually ends up doing, he's creating problems on the world stage for trade, peace and security with his loose cannon words. Canada are already looking at taking their market share elsewhere in the world, as they cannot be guaranteed the free trade deal they had with the US. That will ultimately hit US jobs and prices. As for his words on the Gaza/Palestine issue, the repercussions of that are far reaching. He's basically advocating ethnic cleansing, breaking all kinds of international laws and setting a scene for increased tensions in the area, not only between Palestine and Israel, but also dragging Egypt, Jordan and the Saudi's into it. The law of unintended consequences at play here.
Went into affect 2 days ago now? I was positive it was postponed tbh I actually think Canada's will go through too, but only cos it looks like Canada doesn't want to be bullied
I don't know why he's trying to **** with Canada tbh. I mean I do, it's coz he thinks he can bully people into a climb down. But the US is massively reliant on Canada, they supply something like 60% of their crude oil, a staggering 99% of natural gas and around 85% of electricity imports. You then get into all the things like lumber, car parts, grains and animal feeds, and services like financial, computer and transportation. If Trump digs his heels in, Canada could quite easily tell him to go and **** himself and reap the consequences of 25% increase for US consumers on immediate goods and services and who knows how much more it would cost them to replace all of the oil, gas, electricity. Especially if, as mentioned above, they seek to expand their markets outside of the US as a result of Trump's tariffs. I think in Detroit and over the border in Windsor where they co-produce cars, the parts cross the border something like six times before the finished car is completed. So you're looking at a 25% tariff on each part, every time it crosses the border. I think somebody has worked it out as cars costing US consumers something like an extra $3000
Funny how we accept some racist and corrupt people, but not others, suppose it depends on your poltical stance that you can overlook such things...
