I don't think so. Tbf it's an attempt at forming a Palestinian government the U.S. can accept will rule over both the West Bank and Gaza. The US in return will push for that to happen. It'll be heavily resisted by Netanyahu. What really matters is two things - whether the U.S. applies pressure on Israel to have a change of leadership and whether changes on both sides then form the basis of talks towards a Palestinian state. If neither of those happens, a change of PA Prime Minister will mean fck all, he'll just be sidelined/ignored and things will continue as they have with Hamas.
Guy who set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington has died of his injuries... turns out he was a serving US airman who, to paraphrase, "could no longer just stand by and be complicit in the genocide of Palestinian people" ... He was only 25 ... wow.
I'm a natural optimist, so I'm hoping the US and countries like Egypt, Qatar and Jordan press Israel to support a new PA that governs both the West Bank and Gaza. That said, the pessimist in me knows that Netanyahu will resist it and hammer on about security and stability, even though his Govt have done more damage to peace efforts probably since the 1967 war. Hopefully the Israeli public vote Netanyahu out at the next election. Also there's no place for Hamas in Govt, they will however need to be brought into peace talks alongside any new PA, as otherwise they will continue to exist as as an armed resistance force which Israel will see as justification for more bombings etc. The UK needs to find its balls in all of this too and back the PA's governance and help to build a framework for a two state solution. Those water flumes might not be too far off if it all goes to plan.....
These mongs want the Chorley local council to pass a motion Hamas will be getting a zoom call tonight from Chorley These protestors man, go to ****ing work. Jesus Christ. That Gaza flag is upside down One of the protestors storming the council building muttered "shocking behaviour" when he lost his rag Self awareness.
Its the upside down flag I like. She could of just ****ing googled it, black at the top, green at the bottom.
Flying a flag upside down is a sign of distress. I'm not saying that's why they're doing it, but it does actually fit the situation.
So is storming Chorley Council What happened Ern is they barged in and quickly pulled out banners flags and signs and she ended up holding it upside down
Ignorance is bliss is suppose Chorley actually dictates British international policy, they're a key cog in the national machine
Not sure your point tbph. At least they are trying to do something, irrelevant if it's the right place or not, I saw the name Lindsay Hoyle mentioned in the text, so maybe their whys were justified. I think after todays events, I'm struggling to see why you would ridicule them.
In other news Peter Lerner one of the top dogs for the IDF, cancels an interview with SKY. He's either bottled it or is a very busy man trying to piece together what the hell happened today. My guess is it was a bit of everything, trucks hijacked by starving people, stampeding, truck drivers naturally panicking, edgy soldiers with guns and llve ammo, and Hamas lurking about in the shadows. Complete and utter chaos or maybe that should be carnage.
