He’ll piss it. The Democrats have ****ed it. I watched a news report tonight, can’t remember which channel it was on but they went to Chicago which is a democrat stronghold and a city which welcomed the immigrants there. The place looked like a 3rd world country with tents up in areas all over the city. They were interviewing people, mainly black people and they said automatically they vote democrat without looking at policies but this time they were singing Trumps praises saying they’ll know he’ll seal the borders and sort out the problem in that city that the democrats have left them with.

I can get just over evens for a Trump win. Im seriously contemplating using some of my savings to place a big bet. It already looks all over bar the shouting. The only thing that can stop him is if he gets taken out at some point.

Laughing at the comments saying the Yanks don’t need us.

People seriously underestimate the UK armed forces.

    As you were.

Trouble is that about 40% of UK defence spending over the next 10years is planned to be on our nuclear deterrent, which is of no use in the conflicts we are getting involved in. Its only there to deter others from going Nuclear and we would never use the option in any defence of others territories or even our own, in any non-nuclear cases.

It probably sounds a bit selfish (as its putting the onus on America to provide the NATO nuclear deterrent, but I would probably scrap it and beef up our conventional forces. Although maybe wait and see who wins the next American election first.

I am sure there are joint military exercises taking place - they happen all the time all over the world. They are just standard contingency planning for possible scenarios and don't necessarily indicate that anyone is going to war. Its how they hone their military strategies in the event of a threat. In some cases they are also designed to show/warn the potential foe that they are prepared.

NATO has just completed a huge one in Sweden, US and Philippines are carrying out one in South China Sea, US and Taiwan carry them out regularly in full view of China.

I know all of this, Jacky.

As I said earlier in the thread. He’s told me these one are different and more intense than he’s used to.

Yeah I have a few US colleagues who are all democrata and while they would never vote Trump they all say they've no intention of voting Biden either.

Now obviously that's anecdotal and may well change by time November rolls round but Biden seems incredibly unpopular over there so while it's not a sure thing I think Trump has a very good chance.

Problem is the two party system. US government is rigged to always be two party (only two largest parties get government funding for elections, etc, they're already the richest and they get extra support in federal money)- all sorts of things like that. Or only the two largest parties get primaries supported by the state. All sorts of tricks to try and hamper any third party.

In the nomination process- in most states only democrats vote for democrat nominee; only republicans vote for republican nominee (some states that isn't true, but in most you either have to be registered with the party or can only vote in one primary). So frequently, you end up with the most polar people. The democrat that independents, republicans and neutrals like the least and the republican that independents, democrats and neutrals like the least... and those are your only two realistic options.

George Washington, who was actually a really intelligent man with some good ideas, expressed the wish that the US not have political parties, that it would be bad for US policies. And he's right, if there are not parties you have as many viewpoints as there are people. Instead the US ended up with two entrenched parties that have rigged the system so it's extremely hard for a serious third party to ever emerge- and now there are just two options. Usually two odorous options.

At least in the UK you have more than two options... and true, Labour or Conservative will almost certainly always win... but there was in recent times a case where the Tories needed the Lib Dems in a coalition, and other parties CAN gain seats and have some influence on government.

Biden should have ran right after the Obama presidency. It when he was popular and he still had his faculties.

He's gotten significantly slower since then.

Hilary Clinton was probably the only candidate who could have lost against Trump.

What do they think they can achieve with this, if they seriously want a fight do they think the rest of the Arab world will join forces with them to destroy the Wester world, I dont think so somehow the rich Arab States owe their wealth to the West and without the West they would have nothin to spend it on

Go to the UAE. They ain't joining no Anti-West coalition.

Qatar flirts with it, but only cos they know for a fact that Iran can easily bomb the living ****ing **** out of them. The country is tiny.

This is the thing right, Iran have better relations with Pakistan than they do most countries, they have military drills with one another.

They were having military drills together as this attack took place, Iran at any moment in time could have informed Pakistan about this attack. But did not bother.

I mean, theyre just not a team player. Even with the folks who are cordial with them, I think they have a Persian elitism that gives them the belief that Pakistani and Arabic people are just fundamentally not as good as them

Seeing this same attitude develop in India with the Hindu nationalists.

You would think that in a world divided by politics religion would be the means to unite given that all the Arab States are Muslim but there is no unity because there are more than one type of Muslin and they seem to be hell bent on wiping each other out until one man left standing

We had the same centuries ago with Catholics and Protestants, you would think History could give a clue about what happens when Religious fanatics try to wipe each other out

Still it will all be our Governments fault no matter what or Americas fault because...............answers on a postcode

If you're fully signed up to the misguided notion that Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, ISIS, Al-Qaeda are all in cahoots with each other then it's easy to misunderstand what's going on.

Iran and Pakistan have a joint problem with terrorists across their border. Turkey have a problem with Kurdish terrorists across their border.

Plenty of innocent lives are being lost and they should be called out over it without cherry picking when it suits.

As long as we or Team America World Police aren't involved or arming anyone.
