I did mate, it was one of the very few things I argued with CK over. If you want hostages back you don't take the Israeli approach. I've not read any of the story on the white flag, but it's something I agree with Fosse on for a change, you do not fire on anyone waving a white flag, as Fosse said it's universally known, you don't even need to know the rules of war to know that. The only time you should be opening fire on people surrendering if one of the group breaks from surrendering, only then do they all get taken down.
I probably should have said why I think all those surrendering get taken down in the scenario I gave, it was something I picked up from the Ukraine war while watching an online clip, Russians were surrendering to Ukranians, I can't remember if a white flag was involved, but one of those surrendering broke formalities and the whole group got taken down, it was highlighted that that happens because it is deemed a risk and quite simply you can't gamble with taking chances when your life is at stake. I've not read any rules of engagement to check if that is true or not mind.
The white flag story is impressive. 3 Israeli hostages came out topless with a make **** white flag. The IDF went ham on them anyway, 1 survived went back into the building, called out in hebrew and when he came back out he was executed too. I don't think the israeli families are too happy
When you're a soldier and your leaders are constantly telling you "there are no innocents in Gaza" and "the whole civilian population is complicit" then it's no surprise that soldiers dehumanise everyone and kill anything that moves, including their own. 3 Israeli civilians are killed by the IDF and it makes headlines around the world. There are countless more Palestinians killed in similar fashion in the West Bank, and thousands more abducted by the IDF in midnight raids and imprisoned indefinitely without trial.
