As a national average, maybe. As a born and bred and currently (sadly) still a Londoner, all I know is a report published less than a month ago says that overall crime in the capital has risen 31% over the past decade, with violent crime up 40%. A simple eye test will show that most London high streets are now cesspits for crime and social decay. I witness shoplifting and drug abuse on a near daily basis. Doesn't help that our mayor is a complete bellend.
