No one really asked Newcastle fans to support us in trying to get the owners out, the only thing Liverpool fans have ever asked for help with is signing an online petition to release the Hillsborough documents that concealed the truth for 22 years, and I'm sure you'd appreciate the e-petition was much bigger than anything like Mike Ashley or our previous American owners. Even Everton and Man Utd supporters got behind the Hillsborough campaign, I don't remember anyone asking you to do anything about our American owners though.

It's a football forum Lucaaas, things get said without really meaning anything. You've been on not606 long enough to know that by now.

As regards Hillsborough, I think every football fan in the country was shocked and saddened by it.

It was an unforgettable black day for football.

Remember a fat guy on ssn asking for the support of all clubs as one day it could be your club was his exact words just found it ironic.i just find the whole king kenny craic hilarious due to fans (not the press) taking the piss out of us for saying king kev a term i have never uttered in my life by the way.
hillsborough is a totally different thing and was rightly supported by everyone but it has nothing to do with what i'm saying anyway tired of this **** we'll never agree never met a scouser i've liked and that's a few and that includes my mother in law :)

Guess that explains your dislike of scousers. Even scousers don't like scouser mother in laws.

Knew a scouser a long time ago when quite a few of us drank in the same pub. He always got a round in but made sure he was the last of 6-10 of us to get a round in.

Made sure he didn't have to get two in.

It's better than the ones that stay for 5 rounds and then decide to go home before they have to get one in.

Fair enough AB, I totally agree with your sentiments on Hillsborough.

I have to say though I'm continuously shocked by the hatred towards Liverpool on the Newcastle board, not because I'm particularly bothered that Liverpool are hated, just the fact that Newcastle and Liverpool fans have never really had problems with each other as far as I'm aware. Is it because of the recent Carroll transfer saga? Is it because of Dalglish or is it simply a not606 thing? Curious to know what you think about it, as I don't think Liverpool fans have any hatred toward Newcastle as a club.

I think it has a bit to do with Damien Comolli for some people, who has always been a thorn in the side for Newcastle fans. Even when he was at Spurs, his method of scouting appeared to consist mainly of "who are Newcastle looking at?" or "who have Newcastle got?". Obviously it's all nonsense, but it's a strange coincidence that nearly every single player Newcastle have been linked with in the past few years in the papers has been linked with Spurs or Liverpool a couple of days later <laugh>.

I personally don't hate Liverpool FC, there's great history between the two clubs.

Think in all honesty its the fact that you have taken a few of our "star"players.. Imagine (this will never happen) if Man City took Gerrard, Suarez and Reina, you would be slightly pissed off with them and hardly singing their praises, plus I used to hate how much Andy Gray would rim LFC Gerrard and the Kop every game possible!!

I have to say I dont hate Liverpool at all, infact I dont hate any teams, maybe mild dislike towards Villa ha. But some of those comments about Carroll just amused me!

I certainly have no more a problem with Liverpool than any other club that isn't Newcastle. It's not their fans' fault that they get a ****load of loving from pundits and newspapers and besides my distaste for Dalglish I actually tend to consider Liverpool as one of the more likeable premier league clubs. Their fans are traditionally working class and passionate just like Newcastle's and we've had a lot of exciting games against them too. You're right though, a lot of people on here seem to hate Liverpool.
Then again, I never had any problem with Spurs until I started using this forum - most of their fans on here are smarmy arseholes - people can be easily swayed by minorities unfortunately.

Yep, only scousers do that. No other person in the world does it. Great generalisation there. <ok>

Your fans are over rated (I have been to Anfield and you are so, so quiet even when you win), your team is over rated and your manager is heralded as the messiah when he is in fact a poor mans Ferguson. Sure, you are a big club. Up there with Madrid, Barca, Man U etc in terms of the name but footballing standard wise, you are not far off joining the rest of us and being left well and truly behind by the big guns

To be fair Skapel he didn't fancy Ginola as a player because he would not fit into his style of play. You can't really keep someone if they are not going to work in the system you intend to use. His 442 is very different to KK's with a different role for just about everyone on the pitch. Hence I think it was a bad appointment by the club again (they've been good to us like that!) I don't know about Beardsley? Obviously I wouldn't agree but just because a manager doesn't like the same players (I love Beardsley and Ginola and would accept the rough with the smooth), I still rate him as a boss. Carroll, Adam and Henderson all good players to buy for me. Henderson is much maligned like Carroll, but I think both will make people look a little silly over the next few years. they're good young players. Adam is just a good footballer. Now they've paid over the odds for all 3 but again Kenny just gives the list, doesn't decide on the fees. The Americans have taken a whatever it takes approach which is wrong for me, but if they can afford it so be it.

I'm embarrassed by our boards behaviour towards Liverpool but its just the way things are on here. Not sure where it has come from but being honest it does seem linked to the departures and I think some may just dislike that you were spending while we seemed intent on selling (jealousy). Other just dislike scousers which is their prerogative. Its like any player who leaves now is instantly a **** to quite a few too. I wouldn't lose much sleep over it and most of it will be tongue in cheek. On a personal level our long standing history with the supporters of Liverpool has been in place since I first started going in the 80's and there has always been a kind of mutual respect. That continues for me.

don't be embarrassed for me mate mine has very little to do with football whatsoever but life experience as explained above.if it was just football i'd be the same as you and perplexed, skalpel explained it perfectly above about tarring fans with the same brush due to a minority of nobheads which i must add other fans do to us i.e. deluded etc.
i also added i haven't given up hope of meeting a sound scouser because i'm sure there are some just not met one
