Thought it would be tough today, missed the work rate of Honeyman and McGuire.
Draw not what we really wanted but in the hat for Round Three, and kept the unbeaten run going.
    Onwards and upwards.

    Player Ratings
Jon McLaughlin, 7/10: Tidy with the ball at his feet and made a couple of good saves in the second half.
Reece James, 6/10: Does he ever have a bad game?Linked up well with McGeady down the left. He’s the perfect defensive foil for our most creative player.
Jack Baldwin, 5/10: Cumbersome with the ball at times and could have done better with Cook’s leveller.
Tom Flanagan, 5/10: Like Baldwin, he struggled with the aerial threat of Cook.
Adam Matthews, 7/10: Quality going forward. With Oviedo alongside him he was able to get at Walsall with regularity.
Max Power, 7/10: Tidy. He’s a class above at this level when he’s at full throttle and, for me, is the midfielder we possess that has the most quality.
    Luke O’Nien, 6/10: Tidy and hard-working.
Aiden McGeady (c), 7/10: All over their right back like a rash. Now he’s got his mojo back he is absolutely devastating.
Bryan Oviedo, 6/10: Played the role of foil for Matthews on the right. Did well considering he was drafted in late.
Lynden Gooch, 5/10: Worked tirelessly alongside Maja up front but not much came off.
    Josh Maja, 5/10: Quiet today.
(SUB) Jerome Sinclair, 6/10: Came on to give Walsall something extra to think about.
(SUB) Bali Mumba, 6/10: Shored us up in the middle of the park.

Man of the Match: Aiden McGeady.

Settle for that tbh., this team are awkward opponents, the disruptions made this a possible banana skin, so we have weathered the storm and given ourselves an opportunity to bury them in the re-play, especially if the draw is a favourable one on monday. Nice to see Bali get some game time also, this is a big positive for me as I think this kid is real quality.

Just done a mock f a cup draw and we got Home to Peterboro/Bradford and first out of the draw would you believe ! Boro vs Man c, Newc vs Derby, Man u vs Portsmouth. It would be a laugh it that happened mind. A draw I would like is
    Liverpool vs Man c
    Chelsea vs Spurs
    Arsenal vs Man u
    Leic vs Watford
Sund vs boro then Liv vs Spurs Leic vs Ars sund vs Accrington. Then a decent draw and maybe Newcastle in the final and instead of Wembley, over two legs them first then us = 100,000 tickets and that would still be about half short..

    Yum yum mice pies..

    Ingredients
    1 large jar mincemeat(about 600g)
    2 satsumas, segmented
    1 apple, finely chopped
    zest 1 lemon
    little icing sugar, for dusting
    For the pastry
    375g plain flour
    260g unsalted butter, softened
125g caster sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
1 large egg, plus 1 beaten egg for glazing
    Method
    1. Place 375g plain flour and 260g softened unsalted butter in a bowl and rub together to a crumb consistency.

    2. Add 125g caster sugar and 1 large beaten egg, and mix together.

    3. Tip out onto a lightly floured surface and fold until the pastry comes together, be careful not to over mix.

    4. Wrap the pastry in cling film and chill for 10 mins.

    5. Scoop the large jar of mincemeat into a bowl and add 2 segmented satsumas, 1 finely chopped apple and zest of 1 lemon.

    6. Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7.

    7. Roll out the pastry to 3mm thick.

    8. Using a round cutter (about 10cm), cut out 16 bases and place them into muffin trays. Put 1½ tbsp mincemeat mixture into each. Brush the edge of each pie with a little beaten egg.

    9. Re-roll out the pastry to cut 7cm lids and press them on top to seal. Glaze with the beaten egg, sprinkle with the extra caster sugar, then make a small cut in the tops.

    10. Bake the mince pies for 15-20 mins until golden brown. Leave to cool before releasing them from the muffin trays and dusting with a little more icing sugar before serving.
Tis a season to be jolly....... Kunt

I will take the draw today. My thought is winning the the replay and drawing Man Utd away so we take the cash and run. We don't want the extra games......but if we draw the Nags then I want to be in the 4th draw... :)
