What is needed is a settled and constant back four. Assuming the fullbacks stay the same as there is no reason to change them then we must decide on a centreback pairing to play all the PL games (apart from injuries and suspensions obviously).Kaboul and Caulker would be my choice unless we sign better in the summer. Dawson as 3rd choice. Its time to let Ledley take over defensive coaching duties and let him rest his battered legs before he completely cripples himself.
It would be madness to let Ledley go, even a half fit King is still our best defender and will provide valuable experience. Fair enough Leds has had a few dodgy games of late but I think he has been carrying an injury because we have been down to the bare bones defensively. Maybe no longer be first choice but I reckon he can still play a part.
