Did you read the article in Sunday Times magazine (it was quite a while back) about Gary Speed's death? One of the more interesting parts was that he phoned the guy that was writing his autobiography and told him he'd had enough of the FAW and was thinking of resigning because of financial cut backs. I also remember reading somewhere about Verheijen saying that Speed had told him he was going to take him to a premier league club as his assistant when/if he got offered a premier league job. So I'm not sure if he was even planning to stick around until 2014 anyway.
