This probably won't happen, but i seriously hope it does, especially for £30m, we could go out and buy either hazard or goetze and then bring through oxo, jesus £30m is a serious over-estimation but if carroll cost £35m then i suppose. Lets just hope chelsea keep up there interest.

i guess on the basis that Torres was 50 mil , i think we could get about 90 million for him , i mean , at least he CAN score , theoretically ,

the fact that he doesnt is irrelevant , yeah 90 million is enough .

    sign here please ...........

I am weary of the 'he's still young and improving' argument. A top quality, naturally gifted footballer would have shown more than Walcott has by now. As far as I'm concerned he's had long enough to prove himself. He's far too inconsistent and has an infuriating knack for making the wrong pass. I can't help thinking that there is much better out there and if some set of mugs want to pay 30 million for the **** we should bite their hands off.

Call me stupid or something, but I honestly had a thought like this that Walcott might end up going to Chelsea in the near future.
Somehow I believe that he is not the best-advised player, best example was the biography he published not too long ago.

Hello?!? This guy is 22 and hasn't achieved anything on the big stage yet.

For £30m I would obviously let him go, specially with the 1 year he only has remaining in his contract.
But it would hurt to see another englishman who was in the nationalteam and had the potential to be the face of the club leave for the scum.
And spending his prime years there as Ca$hley did.

Anyone knows what wages he might be on right now?

As much as I like him, IF they did offer £30 Mil then I think we should sell. Although, every time Arsenal face him his pace will scare the **** out of me. He always has that fear factor. He can destroy any high line.

    Come on Piskie ffs<laugh>

We bought Mata for less than £25m...Walcott is worth £15-20m at best at the moment...he'll command more for being English, but I hope to **** we don't bother.

I'd love us to buy Walcott, very inconsistent for you but might do better for us, we could do with his pace and flair, maybe even use him in a more prominent role ( striker )

to those people who say he is one of the most dangerous players in the league .....

    have a day off..

    He is fast .
    That is ALL he is.

When it comes to making the right choices he fails big time.

Sell him . please , while we have him we wont buy a decent player .

  15. The trouble with Theo is that he can be so inconsistent. Not long ago several gooners were praising him in a thread. Mind you around then he was doing a great job. His unselfish assists to RvP were great. Since then the inconsistency has crept in. Missing sitters and the like when you need him to score can be very infuriating. Gooner91 pointed out to his perhaps not being well-advised and that could easily send him across town since Chelsea would have much by which to tempt him, if indeed they really are after him. If he is getting ahead of himself, then I have to say that he has no bragging rights to be a prima donna and Arsenal is not a team for prima donnas.

I think we've had more than enough of posturing over 'wanting to win things, or difficult negotiations over contracts'.

For me - a player either gets on with the deal and accepts the money or is up for sale.
If subsequently he maintains terrific performances he can always nudge AW for a hike.

Where's the passion for playing for the club? - yeah - third place to how much money?

You guys have high expectations of Oxlade-Chamberlain. Not saying he doesn't look a prospect (he clearly does) but Wenger must think he is not ready to play in the first team. Surely you must be concerned if Walcott goes and a direct replacement doesn't come in? It would also put a lot of pressure on the kid.

Exactly <applause> He does look like a good prospect and I think he deserves some game time, but I think some people think he'll be an overnight sensation. If he isn't I wonder how long it would be before those same people are getting on his back?

I don't buy into the 'Walcott is crap' argument one bit. He can be inconsistent, but overall he is one of our most important attacking players and he is still only 22, I think people forget that he's had a string on injuries that blighted his development and there is still a lot to come from him.

Some of the suggestions on this thread that we should ship him out for £10m are ,frankly laughable in my opinion.

If Oxo came in and struggled and we'd sold Walcott for £10m - there would be an absolute outcry on this board.

Arsenal need walcott to stay at Arsenal. Chamberlain is good but Walcoot and Chamberlain are not same. Chamberlain can pass with ball good than Walcott,he can play as forward,Walcott run fast and create chance to score than Chamberlain. Walcott is young, he need more and more match to improve his skill.

Yes, Walcott has never become a player as Henry. he is his self. I think he need score more and more than now. He has not more chance to score. Do you know about player whom creat more chance for Van Persie to score in 2011? Do you know anyone player can run with ball fast as Walcott? Do you remember when Arsenal lose Liverpool at C1 many year ago the player who can run with ball and score goals for 3-3 but in the end Arsenal is lose 5-3? Do you remeber player he can score a goals for 3-2 at Chelsea? I think now Walcott is the best for Arsenal? can anyone do better than him? Chamberlain is good but he has not more experence than Walcott. I think now Chamberlain same the time Walcott came to Arsenal so why does Arsenal sell Walcott to use Chamberlain?
