Rumours are that he wants £80k plus. Also he is starting games for us, so that's not really a problem.

100k is a lot. I can see why you're bulking at that amount.

So if reports are to be believed we are offering 70-75k and he wants closer to 100k? I'd think there is room to make a deal there, if he can settle on slightly lower, maybe 85k? As long as it is a long term contract (5 years please).

Or alternatively a contract that increases each year or increases based on his performance?

I think a deal will be done to be honest. The only other clubs that could afford to pay Walcott more than we are offering are the top 3. I doubt he will want to go to a club who isn't in the CL and he wouldn't have the same importance to the squad if he went to one of the other CL teams in the EPL. I also think he does want to stay at Arsenal and i get the feeling him and Wenger have a good relationship (but then again i thought that about a certain dutchman!). I recon this is more Walcott trying to get his views about playing as a central striker heard and his agent is probably addvising him to hold out for more money as im sure they all do.

It will be a realm shame if he doesn't sign a new contract as i have always thought he will become a real top player at Arsenal - i can see him getting up there amongst our top scorers for the club over his career at Arsenal if he signs a new long contract.

Decent player. I think it will involve a swap with Sturridge.

I'd take Walcott anyday as he'd fit into our system perfectly. Compared to Sturridge he's almost like Messi.

This is the only way I can see it happening. Chelsea have plenty of attacking players, but if the talk of Sturridge's poor attitude is true then this is a good opportunity to move him on However, I'm sure Arsenal's board would prefer cash only so they can sit on an even bigger pile.

It's rubbish. The last we have is the player saying he's happy and Wenger saying he wants Theo to stay. Where do these stories come from? Rio Ferdinand's contract is also up next year and he also says there's no need to discuss it now - why isn't that a story? Oh i forget, mustn't criticise or destabilise Man U must we.

'cause Man U don't make a habit of selling their best players every year. :)

Re-establish himself in the team? As far as im aware when he has been fit he has played and he is clearly one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment!

This is the largest problem I have about Arsenals situation. The fact that people insist on making it sound like Arsenal choose to sell. It is so ******ed!

Its like saying why didn't Goonerzorla just give the money to Arsenal so that they could pay RVP what he wanted? If he had wanted RvP to stay he would have. Must mean Goonerzorla wanted RVP to leave. Stupid knob!

That makes no sense whatsoever. Arsenal have the money to pay their best players with the money that they want, I don't. Stop being a moron.

It's not like what I said was insinuating that we choose to sell our best players anyway. It's a fact that we do sell our best players every year, regardless of whether we aren't good enough/have enough money or if every single one of them is a massive bell end.
