The cup was just a bonus nothing more, we never expected to be there and nothing wrong with trying our lesser players in these games. They are all first team players and all deserve a chance, how do you think everyone starts when moving up the ranks? Some positives will come out of that performance for lambert, he is still experimenting with the team and these are the games to take the risks in, they cant all go to plan every time... I take nothing away from Leicester, there defense was solid and tidy at the back which ultimately won them the game, no shame in losing 2-1 IMO if anything there will now be a point to be proven against Man U. Its a good thing that threads like this still exist as some of our so called ex football heros would have us think that the FA cup is dead and buried, not the case this proves.
The best chance you have had in nearly 20 years to actually progress in a major cup competition and you ****ed it up! Just goes to show that despite all your recent success you still can't shake off your small club mentality!
We will have to differ then, I am not wrong (sir) I am only stating what i feel (as you are). I feel that some of the criticism following the Leicester game is OTT and a knee jerk reaction. I never intimated that we have become stagnant - where did that come from? How can you even utter the word in relation to what has been achieved at Norwich in the last two and a half years?
Spot on Beefy mate Why people keep saying we put out a really weak team confuses me. We didn't. Whitbread was never, ever going to play and Naughton is carrying a knock so the defence picked itself. Yes we ultimately missed Holt, but having Morison, Jackson and Vaughan to call upon should have been good enough. And I can't believe people have already forgotten how brilliantly Jed Steer played in the last round, man of the match wasn't he? He deserved to play yesterday and couldn't really have done much about either goal. That team we put out should have been more than capable of beating Leicester on any other day, but unfortunately it just happened to be one of those rare 'off days' for us whilst they were bang on it, made us look ordinary and deservedly won the game. Jesus, some people seriously expect us to play out of our skin every week and I'm afraid they need to get a bit of a reality check and realise that doesn't happen in life. Everyone has off days and yesterday quite a few of our players had theirs. I think people are getting spoilt by what we have achieved in the past three seasons and are expecting miracles to happen every week which is entirely ridiculous and also a little dangerous if you ask me. Fair play to Leicester, full credit to them and let's move on to next week when we will be looking to make amends for a poor performance yesterday (because that's all it was) and come out all guns blazing.
Well said Munky I can't believe the foxes are so overjoyed they still come over to brag 24 hours later!
Breaking News! Leicester to construct statue of David Nugent celebrating at Carrow Road and give it pride of place at the "King Prawn Bhuna Arena" Sorry, did I say statue, I meant twatue.
