Does anyone have an idea how much the club has saved in ages from all the players released or sold in comparison to what we have brought in?

I'm talking per year as apposed to per week.

Anyone know what the current annual wage bill/ income ratio is?

Don't think anyone's going to know that sort of detail. Our wage bill would have gone down a fair chunk. I bet Ruddy, Bassong, Bennett and Howson were on a hefty wage.

These Germany 2nd Division players won't be on a wage that previous Premiership players would have been on.

I bet Mulumbu and Turner were on a fair chunk.

Dorrans would have been healthily paid as well I guess

I'm wondering if there is much cost cutting needed next year with the chunk off the wages

I think I've found the right numbers, our parachute payments for last season were about £40m, and for this year it's about £30m. Next season we get nothing.

If Ruddy, Bennett, Mulumbu, Bassong, Turner, Whittaker Howson and Dorrans were all on £30k p/w (average), then that's only £12.5m a year saved, and that doesn't account for any replacements. So I'd be surprised if we've even managed to cover the £10m drop from last season with the changes to the wage budget this summer.

Next summer the cut to the wage budget will need to be even greater.
