As vocal as I have been at Acun. This is the right thing to do. Even if it was a positive message it could be a distraction.
whatever he said, it would be twisted to fit whatever view people already had anyway , so probably best to keep it zipped for now until after the game
Owner doing an interview 2 days or the day before one of the biggest games in many years would be a bad idea whatever the topic
I’d have been happy for Acun to do a very brief soundbite in support via the clubs own channels but doing an open interview with press would have been a very very bad idea
City’s debt to Acun Medya is well over half of Acun Medya’s net worth. Plus, Acun Medya took a loan (or loans) out to buy and finance the club in the first place. If he writes off the debt City owe his company, Acun Medya still owes the money to the creditors.
I don’t think it’s quite as simple as that, Acunmedya has combined turnover of $350 million per year and is continuing to grow, in that situation you tend to have lenders throwing money at you.
Net worth is a value of the assets of an individual, not a company. It's very difficult to find out what a Turkish company is worth, unlike here, accounts aren't a matter of public record and even if they were, I'm not sure they'd be entirely reliable.
To be fair to Kalman, the book value of a business can be described as net worth but you’re 100% correct re the figures being quoted they are what someone estimated Acun to be worth about 10 years ago, my guess is it’s wide of the mark and you’re also right with Turkish company data, it’s next to impossible to obtain anything meaningful.
