-> Do we have a buyer lined up or any interested parties? No, of course we don't -> Could acun turn this around or is he done He isn't done. If enough pile on with the wild rumours & speculation and he concludes he's no longer wanted then, like he said from the off, he could be done before long. Yes, of course he can turn it around, and I'd imagine he'd want to do so. Let's see what Selles and Dublin can do given a proper summer (irrespective of division). The end.
I like how you dismiss the negative stuff as bollocks and conjecture and yet speak with such authority that the club is fine and Acun is still committed. Based on what exactly? Where’s your evidence Acun can turn it around?
Yes there are interested parties. He could in some way still be involved. That’s something he said at a Q & A and something he could use as an excuse to leave. Anything is possible but I doubt it.
I didn't say he can turn it around. I said I'd imagine he'd want to do so. Re. dismissing the negative stuff .. Based on what? Based on the evidence of what's happened, is happening and what's actually been said over the months. See earlier posts, it's all be said (by several of us).
The amount of factless, hysterical waffley ****e in this thread must be some sort of record. Here is an idea - let’s see what happens and react then.
You're claiming it's the truth, so by definition you're claiming it as fact, I've no idea if it's true or not. Personally, I think it's a ****ty thing to be posting in the run up to our most important game for years, but you're free to post anything you like.
Reading between the lines it appears that Acun is more autocratic than diplomatic on occasions? If that is the case then having a proven and experienced right hand football man is paramount; oh dear, he did, and severed ties with Tan! I'm not sure Dublin is that man who has limited experience to date? From a business perspective if a consortium is in the mix, a JV may be a solution. Whatever division we are in next season, if we are losing in the region of £4-500k per week, then a fire sale of our best players seems inevitable. Acuns strategy in the vast majority of instances seems to be to buy young players, develop them, and sell on for a profit, and in part I feel that lack of experience within our squad is partly the reason why we are where we are, though Egans signing partly addressed that. I believe Acuns heart is in the right place; we may have had better owners, but we've certainly had a lot worse over the years. I've watched City in Div 1 and lower and will watch City irrespective of what division we are, but seems like the next 12 months is going to evolve into an important milestone in our history. It may well turn out that we start the season OK, and with important players (Zambrano, Matazo, Belloumi and Millar) returning from ban/injury that we are unlikely to be able to sell prior to Jan '26, we may just find ourselves at the right end of whatever division we are in, looking to be stronger 2026 onwards?
Some people love a bit of drama don't they ? More interesting than some of our football this season I suppose
I think Acuns position is untenable. A sale is the best thing that could happen to this club because currently, its sleepwalking to league one. League one is one of the most difficult divisions to get out of. Ultimately Acun has taken us so far backwards its difficult to see how we fix it under his ownership.
The only thing we KNOW 'officially' is that they paid the players a couple of days late, supposedly as a one off. That's it. Literally everything else is conjecture. Yes, there are people with contacts on the inside, and it's not a bad thing that what they're hearing gets shared, but 'going all in' on what's at least third hand information is naive as **** and personally I don't like to make myself look like a **** anymore than I manage by my own hand - so I take the information in and I try not to draw such wild conclusions from it. Still, I suppose it beats complaining about how **** the team is every week.
Jesus Christ, can we get a clean up on aisle five please? A bunch of grown men have just pissed themselves because some useless twats pretending to be footballers were paid a day late. Every job I’ve ever been in has had a moment like this where something along the chain has gone wrong causing a delay. Could be IT, finance, banking partners, anything.
