Here's a good one, read in the Beeb gossip column that Dynamo Kiev's Yarnmolenko could be up for grabs for £10 mill, let's get shot of Jones and grab this guy.

Thought he was superb against us at the Brit!!

I know, before anybody tells me, he is under 6 foot, fast and not coloured, but what the hell. Dare to be different Anthony!
 
During the Villa game, my mate was told by someone he sits by (and so on, and so on...) that Defoe is on his way from Spurs. The story goes that Crouch, Palacios and Woodgate have been on the phone to him telling him what a great time they're having...

I've heard the same story you heard.
Defoe would according to the guy an" ex Stoke player I know well" he would come to Stoke but I suppose wages could be the problem. Hence we'll have to grovel to Mr Coates or T.P. will. He also told me Defoe wants out of WHL and he is a great friend of Crouch's. It seem's that even though Palacios isn't starting too often "not yet anyway" he has told my mate he's well happy here.So, there could be something in this.

This same guy told me that Crouch would sign for Stoke FOUR day's before he did sign the dotted line!
So, unlike these numpties on Twitter I didn't say anything on here nor to anyone re my close friends who attend home games with me. I just walked around with one big smile on my face. Same with Palacios so I'll trust and believe what "he" tells me.


It MAY happen but, as good as I think Defoe is it would be one hellofa coup for Stoke City? I'm CERTAIN many other clubs would take Defoe so we'll see what does happen.
Just slightly off topic but.. remember when Graham Kavangh went public and told us he would "never leave Stoke City" this same guy told me he was/would be leaving before Kav said anything. Which proves to me that my friend and Nick knows who I'm talking about is an honest chap. He was also a fantastic player who some may not remember from his playing days??

I aslo think? that Waddo could be onto something too! <whistle> but, like me he isn't saying anything definate.

Yes it would be a coup, and as they have worked together well in the past, it could be an exciting forward line. That would pave the way for Wolves or QPR to take Kenwyne off our hands...
 
Nay problem Potts - but I honestly think that out of all the non PL 'foreigners' I have seen - albeit on the TV - this Yarmolenko guy looks the biz!!

Yeah I think he could Waddo, he's faster thanHuth/ Woodgate/fitter and he knows where the net is.
And, we could play Walter's right or left or just behind Crouch and Defoe... WHO needs a fullback <laugh>

I remember that game v Kiev the guy was awesome. He has a great first touch too! Unlike K.J. who could not trap a bag of cement if it fell on his head he would fumble it.
Just the kind of player we would like but would T.P. think likewise? The guy had pace to burn too! Unlike Jones Oh, and he can shoot unlike....

That Dave bloke off the Oatie hinted at Defoe on the 17th. I can't see who else he could mean, apart from Zamora or Pav. Here's the part where I believe (judging by what Potts has said) where he hints towards a possible move for Defoe.

also lots of interest in a forward from a London club trying to get him to join us in Jan if not it is certain he will come in the summer.

A very un-Pulis like player. Especially for a forward. He's 5"6!!

Until now I had remained sceptical about it. Now that Potts has come out and said this, I think there could be something in this.
 
Walters could move to the right wing to replace Pennant, with Shotton dropping to right back...

I would prefer Pennant on the wing, but there is something going on that we don't know about where he is concerned. I would also prefer Crouch and Defoe to Crouch and Walters. It's been a long time since we had a proper striker/goal scorer. Can't see it happening though.
 
Defoe is a big YES and would give us that natural pace we need, plus tha Crouch/Defoe partnership had been very successful! I would feel sorry for Walters (who has been excellent sofar) but he is natural right sided player so that may work if Pennant is on his way?

However, I would be happywith a new RB and LB and Wilson and Palxious playing in the middle - I think we are strong enough upfront and have lots of options! It doesn't matter how many strikers we have if we can't play it through to them!

A RB is our MAIN problemo I think.. but IF and it's IF we did get Defoe we could still use Walters as you said, on the right. There is a good chance KJ could go to Wolves and I went to the training ground this morning! No sign of Crouch,Whelan but Huth was there and so was Fuller <ok>
Also saw Pennant and Jerome. Just a thought this but... after what I was told about KJ he didn't look at all happy this morning? I was also PROMISED that Jermaine is going nowhere in Jan. When I asked directly about KJ I was told we've had no contact with ANY club YET for ANY player's apart from Pugh which was always going to happen. re Leeds <ok>

Hope this help those who thought Pennant was going seem's he isn't.

Re K Jones? I KNOW that Wolves have enquired about him I was told a week or so back by the same guy who told me about Defoe.
I asked again this morning and was told exactly what Tony Pulis has said.. " we need to offload a few player's because they ALL want to play football" that, is more or less what T.P. said to the press. There was a guy there no names from me .. I saw Fuller/Jerome and Walters training together.. triangles/flick on's etc and JONES was with Begovic just trapping a ball and shooting pratice. This went on for at least 15/20 mins. Jones had a face like Thunder and it seemed to me that. He knew what is about to happen. Re Wolves and or any other club that may be interested.

Let's face it fella's.. IF Crouch was fit for Saturday and I don't think he will be. HE and Walters are/would be first choice. Jones isn't. And, the guy who told me about KJ and Pennant is very close to T.P. He KNOWS what's happening and what isn't. The SAME guy also told me about Pennant. I asked directly and it went like this.

Answer was

So, I asked again about K.J.
Casually I said..
"Kenwynne doesn't look too interested and he didn't or does not look like a player who wants to give it all for the club, look at Cameron Jerome he's really enjoying training with the other player's" " To be honest, K.J. IMO does not send out the right message to me and many fans around me why is this"

The reply was
" Jonesy is not like Walters, Pennant<yikes> and the rest of the squad. I keep telling him he's got to sharpen up his game, and his attitude" If he does he may not spend as much time on the sub's bench"

Pott's say's
" so, is KJ starting on Saturday because I have not seen Peter training with the lads"
I doubt he will be and since you asked" " Both Peter Crouch and Glen are training inside.. Glen's is a long injury.. Peter is O.K.

I hope you haven't said anything controversial in replying to my question about KJ, that would never be my intention Potts. After all what wll happen will happen and will not be down to the fans but it should be an interesting few weeks. As I said previously I expect more people (fringe players) to leave thanto arrive but let's wait and see.
