You put a lot of work into these posts, so I apologise that I don't have the patience or commitment to answer each point.
So, a general reply:
Surely you can "feel" that this season is the closest we have been for a very long time? We may have been on the brink of success in the Suarez season, but we were so reliant on him, whereas we now have greater potential throughout the team. What we have now would walk the league this season if it weren't for the presence of City. We have to remain focussed on the big prize and I believe it's now or never. Win it and we'll attract better players to continue to build, fail and we won't.
Winning the FA Cup would have no influence whatsoever on bringing players in, there may be a nostalgic attachment to it amongst native fans and players but on the world stage domestic cups mean nothing.
When I think of my life watching football, I don't go to a list of trophies won and stare at it - I remember great games, great players and great incidents. The most enjoyable time I've had as an LFC fan in recent years was watching the football in 13-14, and particularly Suarez, of course. That stands out in my memory even though we won nothing. You say 2nd means nothing, but it means many great memories to me - and they're more valuable than counting cups.
It's the games that matter to me, not the lifting of trophies.
I'm not saying they're irrelevant, but great football should eventually bring trophies anyway and I'm confident that if we continue in our current vein they will come - but I'm genuinely baffled by fans who think trophies are the raison d'etre of football.

The feeling you describe is precisely the feeling there was as the can city team was greeted by these scenes in 2014.

We had it in our hands with 3 games to go. But the reality is it slipped away (pun intended)

The whole point of "feel" is anticipation towards winning the thing

So far me what did you feel v leicester in league cup and what did you feel v wolves last night... nothing. absolutely nothing cos you knew we weren't interested as club but thats robbing the fans.

How can you switch off the anticipation then just swithc it back on for Brighton V LFC next saturday.

This is not about Attracting any players.

Heres a question... what games stands out most to you all time for LFC.

all time now.

That's crap, Wolves are doing what any team including us would do if someone invests.
Come off it, there's all sorts gone on at Wolves about breaking the rules - third party ownership, owners with shares in Mendes agency, paying less than market value to avoid ffp .... very dodgy dealings

theres at least 4 players who are distinctly dodgy deals playing for wolves. Patricio, neves, moutinho and costa.. theres then suspiciosn all the others are dodgy as a result.

Funny you’ve never brought this up before.

My take on last night is to moan about Klopp not for the team selection but for the bizarre "formation" / team set up which left us totally exposed and for the fact that so many experienced players ( Milner excepted )just looked like couldn't couldn't be arsed to actually put in any effort at all.
I before the game expected a "weakened" team and didn't expect to be too bothered if we lost but that shambles of a (non) performance from the management down leaves a really bad taste in the mouth.

PS Sturridge :headbang:

Oh look.... point out which team above used a full strength side in the 3rd round 9f the FA cup? No?

Did they use squad players some of which don't see the light of day usually? Some youth?

Don't get me wrong...Klopp didn't give a **** but he did nothing different than the other top teams.... we just faced better opposition.

With a full squad available we would have started: adding a couple of youth...

Mignolet
Camacho Matip Lovren Moreno
Milner
Lalana Shaqiri Kieta

Sturrudge Origi

And rested the same players regardless of opposition. The fact that 3 of those were not available after 3 minutes is just the way it is. Nobody would have expected any other team than that in same position.

So why would he risk our best players just because some of crap ones are injured?

It was ****e, don't get me wrong but it just means our third choice players are ****e....we knew that lol

have to agree.

2 year's ago he worked the two teams desperately so the fa cup team knew it's system.

yesterday It looked a **** show. several players pulled out late.

I've got no beef with Wolves for the game last night, we were set up to lose and we lost.

The added point about Wolves finances has nothing to do with them as a club in the PL, we're all 'buying' it. However, they did something quite unusual for a second tier club [at the time] in that they employed dodgy tactics to gain an advantage over the other teams who were abiding by the rules and got promotion to the top table because of it.

that is true. so klopp has a dilemma but his solution was to pick really weak team and not respect comp so he deservedly got dumped out

the common theme is the others all won.

I would point out that the relative difference between city team and our team was the following

a) city picked first choice keeper
b) city had 4 clear first team defenders. we didn't have 2 cbs who were injured.
c) city played Jesus not Aguero.. .

seriously, bar foden that team would play in prem half the time.

we went out of our way to play a unfamiliar formation and started two kids, three shiny ****s who've no interest.

City made 8 changes we made 9. So the main difference is we gave Mignolet some game time whereas they played their first choice keeper. Plus of course we played the ~8th best team in the country and they played the ~41st.

But last night proved that team would have got beat as well. Milner as no 6?

I'll say it once more.

why shoudl he risk our best players: Cos we want to win things. Its a cup game v prem opposition.
