look... there's currently 6 sides fighting like dogs for 4 spots... so yes top 4 is a fight every year... for the also fans. in the past it was a given. pre Chelsea money and certainly pre city oil.money. you add in spurs building over years to reach their level and there's no room for arsenal right now. so that makes top 4 a competition not a consolation prize. the reality is however that Utd took a terrible league campaign and ignored it to celebrate 2 cups but last year finished 2nd with nothing won and didn't celebrate much... celebrating being an also ran is stupid if you want to be a big successful club. we were 4th and reached cl final. nobody will celebrate that in years to come. people barely mention 2007 now do they? the reality is the city and chelsea do take the cups seriously, they don't accept failure and are where they are not only due to spending money but due to the attitude that they must be the best. all I want is lfc apply the same attitude even if we don't have the cash they have to sustain spending. attitude first then everything follows. and imo our attitude in the fa cup stank last year. Matip... I'm still done with him after thst game. let's.see what attitude we take this year
That's because they didn't challenge at any point so despite being second they weren't ever close to anything. We finished lower but our form since the New Year with Van Dijk (we were better than City over all 2018) and our CL challenge were far more indicative of #progress And so it turned out, with us continuing to challenge and Mourinho falling off a cliff
Would love to win it just to get a trophy and the winning mentality / monkey off the back. However, I wouldn’t be risking key players in this game, play the fringe players until the semis
TAA, Gomez, Milner and Fabinho... Clyne was certainly not needed, clearly unhappy and definitely not good enough
but gomez is out with broken leg so how do we know he will be ok. the point is Milner filled in once and did average. clyne filled in once and did very well. fabinho is for other position too. we need 17 games and knowing we are covered makes most sense.
Gomez is due back in February. Milner is Mr reliable, he played a very good season at LB too. Fabinho is a fourth choice option should we have a injury nightmare in that position (leaves just Hendo, Wijnaldum and Keita for middle of we get to him though, maybe Lallana too).
It's The FA Cup mate a major trophy as far as I'm concerned I'll be watching and hoping we get through. Yes rotate but nothing too complicated and keep the main men in.
Well said We’ve always taken the FA seriously. We have in the past ridiculed the clubs that sacrificed the Cup for other tournaments or for money. Play a team as if we care about the competition.
don't start ****ing moaning then when we get pointless injuries to key players and it ****s us up in league and cl then and bang their goes our title challenge.
there's a clear case.here of the red line we've had a game ever 3 to 4 days for a full month. some guys can get a 9 day break.here. for me this.is not even a debate... it's all about the ****ty draw we got. sturridge Keita fabinho shaqiri those 4 will certainly play There's no option on cbs... So that's 6 of a team before we even start talking. what we are really then looking at is go, full backs, a midfielder and no 10. for example. x x lovren vvd x fabinho x lallana shaqiri Keita sturridge let's assume Robertson's wife sprogs finally.. surely we should be trying to help the lad there. windy got a day off v arsenal... So he might be midfielder.
yes but it's better it happens in a game you want to win rather than one you don't really, and it has a knock on effect for other comps. or we put out a strong team for this game and come brighton game klopp has to rest key players as too tired or picked up little niggles playing a cup game and we lost the league game, will you and carl go into hiding. not having a go mate just we need to prioritize what we want to try and win.
