The football has been terrible because of a lack of investment. This could be for several reasons; new stand, no CL, expensive squad of average players, not enough scouting of the right type of player.....and so on.

Klopp himself has suggested that the right type of players was not available when needed so they didn't buy. You have to respect that somewhat if it's the truth but If it transpires that Klopp could have bought this player or that, then I'd be inclined to move closer to your argument but it's very marginal.

Right now, we are 10 points better off and a net spend of -£16m. I'd say that's real progress over last year. To qualify for CL looks like we'll need 76 points....that would be massive progress over last year and we'd only just scrape into 4th.

When it comes down to root cause here, it's lack of investment or the wrong prior investments that need to be moved on....much of that is down to FSG and not Klopp. Basically, in short, if we miss CL this year, I hope FSG sell us so that we can get the investment required. Then let Klopp get the team sorted properly.
