Liverpool have taken steps to ensure that loyal supporters will have access to the cheapest available tickets for the Champions League final. The Reds have released a breakdown of how the 16,613 seats they have been given for the showdown with Tottenham in Madrid on June 1 will be allocated. Some 63% (10,466) will be for general admission followed by 25% (4,153) for seasonal hospitality members and priority rights holders. Matchday officials, first-team players, former players and media will account for 11% (1,827) with commercial partners taking around 1% (167). The tickets are in four price categories: £513, £385, £154 and £60. Anfield officials have held back all of the £60 tickets for general admission fans to purchase. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...verpool-hold-back-cheapest-champions-16272826 please log in to view this image
Champions League final referee appointment isn't the best news for Liverpool Damir Skomina will take charge of the Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham. The first Liverpool match Skomina ever took charge of was in December 2009 when the then manager Rafael Benitez welcomed Fiorentina to Anfield. It ended in a 2-1 defeat for the home side and ended up capping off a disappointing Champions League campaign from which Liverpool did not make the last 16. please log in to view this image Match referee Damir Skomina during the UEFA Champions League match at Anfield (Image: PA) Fast forward five years to the 2015/16 season when Liverpool were in the Europa League and Skomina was selected as the man in the middle for the second leg of their last-32 clash with Besiktas. Brendan Rogers was at the helm and the Northern Irishman took his side to Turkey with a 1-0 aggregate lead. The Reds lost 1-0 that night before subsequently losing their first European penalty shootout in history to match in brutal fashion. It was the Europa League again for Liverpool when they were met by Skomina the following season - this time in the first leg of their semi-final match with Villarreal which ended up in a 1-0 loss. This time though it was Jurgen Klopp at the helm and back at Anfield they put that right with a 3-0 win though couldn’t quite make their dominance in the final against Sevilla count. Skomina was selected to take charge of another Liverpool match last season - the second leg against Roma in the semi-final of the Champions League. Fourth time lucky? Think again. It was a 4-2 loss for Klopp’s side in Italy but fortunately they had already done enough in the first match at Anfield to get into the final. However, he was in charge of Liverpool’s final group game against Napoli where the Reds won 1-0 and qualified for the group stages, so his most recent record is a very positive one in terms of result!
iverpool's hectic schedule has led to the club deciding not to hold their annual Players' Awards this year. For the past five years the Reds have put on a glittering black tie ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the first-team, academy and women's teams. However, withJurgen Klopp'sside launching a sustained challenge for glory both domestically and in Europe finding a suitable date this time around proved to be problematic. The event, which has taken place in the new Main Stand atAnfield for the past two seasons, has traditionally been held in either the week before or after the final Premier League game of the season. That wasn't possible this time around withLiverpool's battle with Manchester City for the title going right down to the wire. After the heartache of coming so close to ending the club's 29-year wait for the top-flight crown, the players are being granted some time off this week prior to next week's training camp in Spain as they gear up for the Champions League final against Tottenham in Madrid on June 1.
I see absolutely nothing there to worry about as I recall those games and we were ****. The Villarreal game I can clearly recall and the napoli one... no issues there.
