Where does Benteke fit into this? Klopp has used a bigger less mobile forward in Lemondropski but when he moved on a more hard working mobile striker replaced him. From what I've seen of his teams and then trying to fit in certain players who have to much quality to be benched and my choices I'd go.... Mingolet Clyne Gomez Sakho Moreno Can Lucas Firmino Studge Coutinho Benteke Bear with me on the Studge thing as I believe that when attacking the formation looks more like. Mingolet Gomez Sakho Lucas Clyne Firmino Can Coutinho Moreno Studge Benteke When defending.......... Mingolet Clyne Gomez Sakho Moreno Firmino Can Lucas Coutinho Studge Benteke I can't see my team being used though and if I try to pick a Klopp team it will probably be.......... Mingolet Clyne Gomez Sakho Moreno Can Lucas Hendo Coutinho Milner Studge This gives us workers and less technical ability but suit the high pressing game. Lots of options from the beanch and Klopp does like to use 4-3-3 so room them for Firmino, Ings and Benteke.
Brendan Rodgers as bad as he was (not sure) if he had lost to Spurs as Liverpool manager. This one too close to call going for a draw. 2:2
It's going to very interesting to see what happens with Benteke and also Sturridge. As Luv says, the system is dependant on relentless high pressing. Benteke is quite lazy and Sturridge can't chase because he runs the risk of injury.
Good teams Luv - I think Firmino will be playing centrally and we'll see Coutinho and Sturridgr out wide. Can in midfield will hopefully become a reality, and whilst I would love Gomez in defence, I reckon Skrtel will start. I've said before that Skrtel in the right system is good. But hopefully he is replaced come Jan or in the summer.
It will be an interesting period for Klopp - what made his teams really good was their fitness. They put in so much work on and off the pitch and he hasn't had a pre season with these lads. Could be a big physical toll on the players initially.
Of the players we have Hendo, Ings, Milner, Clyne and Moreno all fit in with his fitness requirements. Lucas fits in with his destroyer preference but will need to up his fitness. Not a bad start really and the likes of Firmino and Coutinho are always up for hard work but will need to improve. We also have quite a young squad so increasing that leel of fitness is possible for the majority. Can is going to have to put some serious work in but I welcome that as he seems sluggish to me, Studge will again have to improve he's a lazy ****er at times but we have to tread carefully with him, Lallana is known for fading in a game but does initially work hard.
I do think Can will thrive. Klopp had one of the Bender Bros in midfield and Can could model himself on him.
Coutinho showed he was willing to work hard when we had SaSaS, he just needs someone in front of him to lead by example like Suarez did. If one goes, they all go. PS...you missed Flanno off the fitness list, he fits the requirements (when actually fit) too.
Maybe Klopp kan get the best out of Benteke but for now I say keep him benched. Sturridge is proven class (if fragile) and Ings has proven to be an excellent signing in good form so far. Studge frequently played as a wide forward during the Suarez days when we did well. I think he's more suited to cf but to accomidate Ings I wouldn't mind playing him wider to fit on in-form Ings in the formation. Studge wide means one of underperformers: Lala, Ibe, or Firm can be benched.
I'm optimistic now Brodge has gone. More optimistic when Klopp signs... That said a bad result will be no cause for "Klopp out".
As typo goes thats a corker - just seems strangely appropriate though after this weekend possibly should be Sakho or Can
Have no idea who will be selected particularly since we don't actually know who will be the manager but here is my selection (not sure when some of the injured are due back) Mings Clyne Skrtle Sakho Moreno Lucas Hendo Milner Couthinho Studge Ings sub Bogdan,Can.Gomez,Benteke,Allen,Firminho,Lovren
