Funnily enough, when I hopped in the car earlier Talkshite were talking about it. Apparently if the defence ‘resets’ then it will not count. Sounds like more grey area. If that had been given against us, i’d Be fuming - it was offside
I personally wouldn't have given Keita's penalty shout, but the rules are weak regarding this and need looking at. Keita is clearly leaving his leg in place and falling into the defender prior to contact. Plenty of players do this week in, week out. Many refs would have given it, but I think it's ridiculous (and embarrassing) that anyone should.
Fred and jorginho are both **** but still have more goals and assists than keita whilst playing in more defensive positions. Keitas **** and klopp wants rid
Can't see how. He is offside from the ball over the top, and it should have been blown when he collected it.
2 points 1.how far back do you want them to go ? 2.Peoples faith in those lines on close decisions is touching imo since for it to fully accurate you would need sensors in the ball to give moment of contact plus accurate GPS sensors on all players and an incredibly high framerate. After all there is an element of error built into the simpler goaline technology. I don't like VAR but if it is going to be used please restrict it to clear and obvious errors i.e. the not given offside we profited from against WHam. so endeth todays sermon
It should have been given offside when he collected the ball, but an awful lot happened between then and the goal being scored. If VAR doesn't go back that far then it won't make that call, and it's still going to be down to the officials. They got it wrong and we benefited from their mistake. I'll happily take it, because there are plenty of times when it goes against us. It was a tight one, and you can't really blame the lino for it too much. As for the accuracy of the lines, I dunno - he looked marginally off to me.
In this day and age, you'd think they'd be able to figure out a way of using technology for offside wouldn't you?
thats just to trigger position of ball would need something to register the first boot contact to then freeze picture at that moment etc. In reality to a large extent i'm just being argumentative as i dislike the attitude they have "proved" offside therefore it is a matter of fact and isn't included in the clear & obvious error rulings.
just on Keita. there was a rumour and paper article about klopp moving him on. first off that's not klopps style. second as I pointed out last night klopp left the guy on and was all over him at the end with the hugs and what have you.
but in real time how does that linesman make a call when he's not able to see both the line and the ball being played? when the thing is stopped at the exact time of the pass he is marginally off but at that time there's no possible way a human being can look at salah and taa at once. I've sympathy for the official there.
we all knew that was bollocks might have fooled the wums!! what kind of manager would sell a player in his first season in a foreign country and new league? how many players down the years have needed 2 seasons to adapt first. probably written by a deluded utd fan or everton supporter
