I never even come on here when the game is on. At the end I usually go to the last post and make my own comments. On the odd occasion I've read back, some of the stuff said during the game is amusing.
As mentioned in the Huddersfield thread Mo still not celebrating scoring,I'm baffled by this and it's also been picked up by others.something ain't right with him !!
Yeah but he doesn't look happy after scoring,no smiles even.I'd expect something like this..... please log in to view this image
I think you might be reading too much into this (at least I hope so). I think he's frustrated and disappointed with his performances so far and when he scores it's more a case of relief than jubilation.
Hard to judge on last night, but he shows shows de promise. Looks very strong, not afraid to carry the ball, happy to play passes in tight areas. Composed in possession, just what you want in a holding midfielder really
Yeah, the same as the team as a whole really. Not a faultless performance by any means, but we played some nice stuff and scored a few. Another small step.
There was more of the slick passing movement (the stuff we got used to last season) than we've seen for quite a while.
Only just seen the goals. Lovely touch from shaq for that second goal, cushioned lay off was delightful and a nice ball in to Robbo for the first. Seems like Klopp is trying to turn him into the creative midfielder that we miss - against lesser clubs when we dominate the ball not a bad choice. Remains to be seen if he can do that and offer midfield protection against bigger clubs though. Lots if nixe tackles and interceptions from Fabinho, kind of thing we expected from him so he’ll offer us real protection in that role if he can continue to adapt. Thought first pen was soft but saying that, if it’s outside then box it’s a free kick and just stepped across and blocked him off with his arm. 2nd one was nailed on, if you’re in the wall 10 Hess away you have no excuse for the back hitting your arm.
Klopp did say he wanted the team to be more direct than usual at the start of the game but that it did go on a bit longer than he wanted.
Eating what words, the part where I said "But he had a few good moments so happy to give him time to ease into our team and see what happens" ? Just not as blown away with him in that game as others were, needless fouls (not clever ones to break up play), slow to react at times, few missed passes, etc. I don't care what the stats say, my eyes weren't as impressed as others seemed to be with his performance, but he's got promise and showed glimpses of what's to come as he grew into the game. I'm optimistic about him, just haven't jizzed my pants yet whilst others are still cleaning theirs by the bucket load.
Agreed. Thought he was too slow most of the game but he did improve as the game went on. Very early days for him yet, I think he'll come good.
I don't think anybody got over excited, especially given the caliber of opponent. For the first 10 minutes I thought he looked ****e, game passed him by and was caught in possession alot. But as the game progressed he looked better and better. It's a strange one, we sighned him and keita and both where expected to make a good impact. But we are a quarter of the way through and he's hardly played. Keita has played and has definitely not had the impact of think a few of us where expecting. It shows how much quality and hard work goes into being in our midfield three than two 50mil players need to be conditioned before they are ready.
