The outrage expressed because we're having a bad season seems like a sense of entitlement to me. We're not entitled to success, and there's no point in taking failure as a personal affront. We had a constant upward trajectory since Klopp took over culminating in winning the title for the first time in 30 years. A combination of circumstances has meant we've been unable to maintain that level. Perhaps there are problems, but we can't see them clearly because of the extraordinary circumstances everyone is under. The "heads must roll" attitude (because that's what it is, even if not explicitly expressed) is entirely premature, imo. Let's get the crowds back, start a new season having worked on the issues in the meantime and see where we stand then, rather than pushing the panic button.
I totally agree, in the main the only thing that annoys me is stupidity (2-7 and making the same mistakes for goals 5,6,7 (letting grealish inside etc) or players not pulling thier weight. the only thing ever asked for was to put the shift in to justify the wages. that said there are players who have lost their heads a bit and players who can't be trusted and that's what can and needs to be sorted. If mane can recover his head and come back great but he's no use for the next 7 games falling over the ball and back passing to keepers like he did v villa. By all means let him go off in summer and come back for preseason and build again. as I've said ketia has been found wanting in the work dept. not for me thinks and thats why i say turn to milner as a safe old stager who will put the shift in. You are right about problems and not knowing what they REALLY are but I think we all know the score on several players irrespective of crowds, covid or whatever.
I agree to some extent but I also think it's negligent to just sit on our hands and hope that next season is automatically better. I agree that I don't think things are that bad and getting a title winning defensive partnership back fully fit is one - but we do need to be proactive wherever possible. Boosting the attack, replacing Gini and strengthening the defence should be priorities.
I take it all back @wishiwasinliverpool - after yesterday's announcement, it might be good that there aren't any fans at the game...
