Tbf, there's not a lot to say.
We know we've taken a strong squad, but we don't yet know the starting line-up. We've discussed the need for a win -as usual- so until there's some news we'd just be waffling pointlessly. And we never do that.

  8. I don't believe the travelling is as big a deal as people make out. Yes its a long way but its not like we're walking it is it. We're going on a plane so we're talking about an hour or two difference, hardly a body destroying amount. I'd imagine they won't adjust to local time either, they'll just stick to British time regardless. Can't see how it makes that much difference other than restricting the possible training time slightly.

It's about 2ooo miles to Kazan. Nearly as far as a trip across the pond. Travel time is between 6 and 10 hours, depending on stops.
Whether or not that has a significant effect on footballers I don't know because I've never had to play a match after a flight.
I'm guessing it's not quite as inconsequential as you say, though.

  10. Okay, I'll be honest and say I didn't realise it was that long a flight <ok>

Four hours variance is quite large though

Like I said, that depends on stops. They were commercial flights I was referring to.
I'd say that 2000 miles would give you about 4.5 to 5 hours in the air? Then it depends on how much you hang about in airports. All of which can be psychologically tiring, I suppose.
Presumably football teams charter their own planes so I don't know if there's a direct flight path.

  13. I'm sure the club will have their timing sorted. Maybe do it so the players sleep on the plane and therefore not effect them as much?

I thought it would only be a hour or two more than most of Europe.

  16. Cheers.

I don't think the time difference matters, surely they'd just continue to operate using UK time?

I don't know, I guess for a short stay they won't alter their clocks, I think it's far enough away for there to be jet lag but I presume they know how to handle that.
