Only Steven Gerrard (21) has scored more European Cup/Champions League goals for Liverpool than Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, who have all moved level with Ian Rush on 14 goals each.

BTW Martial has 4 goals in the CL, one of which was a penalty.

Youth won't do him any good unless he moves to a team capable of qualifying for the CL

 

Genuine question... Did Mane or Firmino play CL footy prior to joining us?

 

Maybe firmino at hoffenheim doubt mane at Southampton

 

Mane played 16 European games whilst at Red Bull Salzburg and three more at Saints, just don't know which competition (obvious, the three at Saints weren't CL)

Firmino has zero European appearances prior to joining Liverpool.

Mané only played Champions League Qualifying (and Europa) for Salzburg, not proper Champions League

 

Mane apparently played for Salzburg in the CL, 5 in total

Absolutely it’s a compliment and it’s deserved. Small sample size mind you (if you exclude 13-15) but hopefully he continues.

I’ll be happy with whoever lifts that trophy as long as it’s a Liverpool player!

 

imo it's the lack of fear that's driving us on.

we looked bloody scared for a period there but as of now we are doing the job.

What a season we are having by the way, semis at least in the CL for the second season running and likely to finish with a record point tally for the club. Even if we end up with nothing this season , Klopp is building a really special side if he can keep them all together.

 

The stress is over now. we are playing like we mean it.

When we look scared and falling apart its stressful.

watching allisson laugh at these guys and vvd just jog past fast forwards etc its highly relaxing

 

There is definitely an arrogance with us, almost dangerous sometimes as games can pass us by, but we played yesterday like we knew we'd score and the game was done. Hoping we don't take that same attitude in to Cardiff.

 

VVD did one of his lapses yesterday but we got away with it; he briefly stopped and looked at the ref because he felt he was fouled which allowed Porto to get in behind us.
