Play with Carroll and Shelvey, you're killing yourself before kick off. FWIW Shelvey can still offer something when he's not dawdling around the CB's.

Gotta say apart from that **** up on 5 minutes, Gillespie did OK.

We were dire in the first half and he made a few saves and managed to save a penalty when it really counted.

Yeah, we looked better when Schar came on and started bringing the ball out of defence with a bit of purpose. This forced Shelvey to move further up the pitch.

    Tactical masterclass from Brucey.

2 Quarter Finals in a row now. You can tell he's desperate to be the man to end the drought.

We really need a decent CM. One who's first thought is head up, pass forward, move! So much passing sideways for Shelvy to eventually swing a leg at it lifting the ball into the box from deep with no pace. Need to seriously up the pace of passing in the middle.

Murphy needs a lot of coaching on end product but TBF to him I think we should keep hold of him and try and get him in the team. He at least continually tries to make things happen.

I don’t have an issue with him. I said earlier yes he made a mistake but it should never have got to that stage. Shelvey let his man go. The defence backed off so the player took a shot. Hit the bar and then when it fell to their striker we took forever to get out to the ball. The keeper error is a mess but yes he did ok after that.

It’s the abject performance we have week in week out. We’ve started slowly in all but the West Ham game.

If Shelvey plays we need a mobile striker as Carroll is done.

The cup runs have been the easiest I’ve seen in living memory and we have scraped through.

He’s ok till the final step. It’s always been the same with him. You get players who just bottle it at the end. He’s that player.

I think there's one team left not in the PL. AKA there's one team left we might beat. So SF is best case for us.

Another "cup run" for Super Brucey. Don't mention it was 2 x L2 sides.....

Absolutely genius from Bruce. Taking the time to prove that Sunday was no fluke to win with a penalty at the death. Well played son!

It's very worrying... I don't understand his refusal to play 4 2 3 1... The only time we looked good was vs Sheff United and Bournemouth playing that system.. We e now brought in players to fit that mould, but he's going 4 4 2 and seems stubborn enough to keep playing it
