I remember them well. We were all wanting them to win it...well I was....the thing is, they came off the rails in the final furlong....the pressure got to them. That hasn’t happened to us, we’ve got more points than Ferguson ever managed to amass.

They signed Asprilla, as good a player he was, they were doing much better prior to his arrival.

They had Shearer and Ferdinand up top and played a straight forward 442, Asprilla came in and never stayed as part of the two. He'd be great in modern teams, just didn't work back then.
